Mrs. Radish's Picture
Mrs. Radish, Chicago/Syracuse Age and Occupation: 27, Executive Assistant/Journalism Student/Musician Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Anthropologist/Musician Engagement Date: December 20, 2005 Wedding Date: August 18, 2007 Blogging Since: June 26, 2007 Venue: The Wellington House in Fayetteville, NY About Me: Mr. Radish and I are both from upstate New York, so we are planning a wedding in Syracuse from about 700 miles away. When I’m not obsessing about our wedding I play the cello in my band (which Mr. Radish is in too), read as much as I can, sleep even more, travel whenever possible, and try to find time to have fun with my friends. I’m also working on finishing up my journalism degree with a concentration in environmental reporting and I’m the VP of my campus Amnesty International chapter… so I’m a pretty busy bee.

The Top 5

August 13th, 2007 @ 5:38 pm by Mrs. Radish

Ok, so you’ve seen all of the dresses that I tried on now (or most of them anyway), here are the five finalists that I narrowed it down to:

1. Casablanca

2. Nicole Miller

3. Lambert Creations - Katarine

4. Lambert Creations

5. Lambert Creations

… and the winner is… (insert trumpet solo here) dress #4 by Lambert Creations!!!! Here are some more pictures of the dress from my first fitting.

There was just something about this dress for me. I didn’t want to get it because it was actually $2,400 and I set my price limit at $2,000… but it kept creeping into my mind and I actually started having dreams about it! I really did try to talk myself out of it, but my gut was just telling me to get this dress. In the end, my gut overcame my fiscal conscience and I gave in and bought it.

I think one of the things that I love about this dress is that I’ve never seen it before, and I am, in fact, the first American bride to wear it. :) I guess that makes me feel cool or something, hehe. But in all seriousness, I have always danced to the beat of my own drummer in life, and I didn’t like the idea of having the same dress as thousands of other girls. My mother calls this quality in me “being contrary” and she’s probably right. I’ve always gotta do things my own way. Ah well… it’s a beautiful dress regardless of my motives.

So ladies, what do you think of THE dress? Would you have picked the same one if you were me? How did you know when you found the right dress?

Wow, #4 looks great on you! I love the ruffle detail on the bottom, and you look simply elegant sitting on the bench!

Had to go back and read all of the Adventures - ha! Glad you found the the one that suits you the best! I have yet to go on my own first adventure….

Kinda curious, ’cause it looks exactly like the kind of dress I’m drawn to for myself, what style the #1 Casablanca dress is…..??
