About Mrs. Bell Pepper

Platinum Rocks

So can anyone guess where I bought my wedding band?

We went everywhere in the Philadelphia area and we found the best deal for a platinum band at the Jewelry Exchange! I wanted something simple to complement my engagement ring and a metal that wouldn’t fade or discolor. I work a lot with my hands in my profession and wasn’t too thrilled about getting my band replated, so I knew a white gold band wouldn’t last. I love platinum and palladium, but the prices are just so high! I searched everywhere and we found a beautiful wedding band at the Jewelry Exchange for about $600.

My engagement ring was bought from Desumma and Wexler Fine Jewelers, located in Philly’s historic Jewelers Row.

The perfect pair. There really isn’t much of a separation since the diamonds in my wedding band kind of tuck underneath my engagement ring setting.

So do I have any regrets buying my wedding band from the Jewelry Exchange? Nope. It might not be the highest quality wedding band, but I love how it’s durable and complements my ring so well. There are so many things we need to save up money for, such as medical school loans, our condo and other basic needs in life. There’s always room for an upgrade, and I think when we do have enough money, I may consider it. :)

Awesome! I love your rings. The funny thing is (not to be egocentric) I thought The Jewelry Exchange was just a Boston store - I didn’t realize it was national, never mind that they have the same waving commercial for all of their locations! Seems like a good place to do business, though. I also wanted to see the site where you go to your engagement ring (which is gorgeous) but it’s a work in progress. One thing I’m curious about… can you bargain for a deal at a jewelry store? Just wondering. At any rate, you got a good deal and your fingers look happy!

Ahhhhh!!!! I always get a good laugh from the commercials for the Jewelry Exchange! Not only do the clothes and hairstyles scream 90s (check out Miss Neon Green in the back!), but the way they all wave reeeaaaaally slowly cracks me up :-) I’m glad to know, though, that despite their cheesy commercials they still serve up some good jewelry!

I’ve never even heard of Jewelry Exchange. But, I’m from Oklahoma. We seem to be lacking a lot of things. But we do have lots of Sonic drive-in restaurants… (wow)…

My wedding ring is quite similar, but my e-ring isn’t a solitaire so I actually had my two rings soldered together (or whatever process they use) so that they wouldn’t twist or gap. It also made them fit better, IMO.

Your rings really do go great together. Good choice!

meleven, I thought the Jewlery Exchange was just in Tustin, CA! LOL. I see the commercials on TV.

Beautiful set, Mrs. Bell Pepper!

I love your e-ring but both are beautiful!

I’ve been looking for the same orb you have! I don’t see it on Scarlett Alley though (at least not one with the chinese characters). Is that where you got it from?

I don’t understand why you would want to upgrade your engagement ring later? It looks big and dandy to me. my two cents.

that’s a great deal for the ring! yeah..i’ve been tempted by the price of white gold, but didn’t want to deal with replating as well.
mary - i think mrs. bp was speaking about possibly upgrading her wedding band in the future, and not her e-ring. and yes, her e-ring is big and dandy!!

Thanks for the tip aoedorothee!

I just called and found out they also have “love” and “sister” orbs that are pink on the inside (in case any other readers are interested). I haven’t decided which to order for myself (love or happiness) but I am definitely getting one for my sister! Thanks again!
