Mrs. Lemon, Los Angeles/Monterey Age and Occupation in 06: 26, Graduate Student (Public Policy) Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Environmental Consultant Engagement Date: April 7, 2006 Wedding Date: July 7, 2007 Venue: Rosary Chapel & Monterey Marriott, Monterey, CA About Me: My FI and I met online, but we like to tell people that we met at a "cookie shop" which is the technical location of our first encounter. He proposed exactly 1 year, 1 month and 6 days after our first date (it's the only part of his proposal speech that I remember), and we're planning long-distance from Los Angeles for a July wedding in my hometown of Monterey, CA. I have a passion for all things "cool, cute and quirky" and I enjoy video games, reading blogs (WeddingBee, trashy celeb, consumer & political) and crafting in my spare time, if I have any!

Splashin’ The Dress!

August 14th, 2007 @ 3:44 pm by Mrs. Lemon

After all of the stir about the “Trash the Dress” phenomenon here on WeddingBee, I was a bit scared to post the outcome of the OC Trash Bash that I attended a few weeks back. But then again, the results were so awesome that I had to share with WeddingBee if just for the sake of enjoying a photographic experiment. You see, getting pictures back from multiple photographers from the same day has to be one of the neatest things ever… even before you throw in the perfect Laguna Beach day, surf and wedding dresses!

Now, these are just the teasers from the photographer’s respective blogs, so who knows what the full CD holds in store! I’m just still grateful to have had such a fun day with other brides and wonderful pictures to share from the experience. It’s fun being a test subject sometimes!

Miss Lemon–THESE ARE AWESOME!!! I want to trash my dress too… but I have to wait until after this Friday (dum-dum-dee-dum!). I wish some one in Seattle would do this. I’ve been begging a photog up here–with no luck.

Miss Lemon - although I was one of the posters creating a “stir”, I think TTD is the dress owner’s decision, and wouldn’t want you to expect any bashing from me.

More importantly - you look AWESOME! Congratulations on having such a fantastic photo shoot. These are beautiful.

Chris from Detroit,

Its actuallly known as trash the dress.

John Michael Cooper started the TTD movement when lighting a bride on fire (not literally). check out his work:

Great pics. Although, if you hadn’t told me that you were wearing a wedding dress, I would never have guessed and I would have thought it was just a (sexy) shoot in a white dress!

Wow. You look like a model :P Fantastic stuff. I think TTD is really cool but I think I love my dress too much to do it. Plus I can’t really run or move freely in my dress (it’s mermaid-ish).. So it would be kind of boring lol.

WOw wOw WOW Kim - you did great! Thank you so much for being such a good sport about the whole thing. Your vintage dress is gorgeous. I actually like how you named it “Splashing the Dress” - which is more accurate since we didn’t really do any “trashing”.

Ooo, lovely! I’m on the fence for TTD but for ’splashing’ like yours, I like. Just nothing that would ruin the dress forever….

So model like! I love the sexy splashing in the water.

kim you totally looked like a model! i love these types of shoots. no stress and the bride can just be free. both of the girls we shot said their dresses are still in great condition and their photos turned out beautiful.

I still think that the general actions of those posts (from both sides) on the original Trash the Dress were ridiculous. That post made me not only embarassed to be a bride-to-be but a woman as well (so many stereotypes in there). Do what you want but don’t be offended if someone has opinion, that’s how I was brought up. With that said, the first picture is the best of the bunch.

I was there at this “Trash the Dress” session too. I had the best time of my life! We had the most amazing photographer named David Baxter. I can not believe how wonderful our pictures look. If you want to see them and another beautiful couple’s pictures as well, check out the website. It’s sdohana.com Love these pics by the way…. this is such a fun experience, every bride should do it!

Mrs Lemon you’re gorgeous! I was there as well and was so lucky to have hooked up with April from Ohana photography (I’ve posted the link to the blog with our pictures). These are, without a doubt, some of the best pictures of me I’ve ever seen!

Hey Lisa,

Have you found a photographer in Seattle to do a TTD session for you? If not, give me a call. I’d love to do it!

Check out Megan & Travis’ TTD session on my blog.

http://blog.jefflaplante.com/2007/08/21/megan-travis-trash-the-dress/

I was out at Discovery Park on Sunday for Alexa & Camilo’s TTD session as well. Those images will be up this week so check for them as well.

All the best,

Jeff
