I had my shower last weekend, and let me tell you, IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!! I’m so thankful for my sister Jenny and friend Emily who helped put it together. Also, every friend who attended made it so special for me–it really couldn’t have been better! From the start, I told Jenny and Emily that I wanted it to be a surprise (even down to the location!). Friends would mention that they were coming to my shower and I would quickly say, “Stop! Don’t say anything more! I don’t know anything!”.
In order to keep the location secret to the last second, I was even blindfolded on the drive there (good thing I had a British Airways sleeping mask handy!)…
I have a pretty incredible sense of direction, so even though my wonderful friend Reena who drove me made a few turns to throw me off (okay, I think she was lost…
), I knew the basic area that we were headed to. I was finally “allowed” to take off my mask to reveal the Off Vine Restaurant! I had never been there, but have wanted to go for awhile…
We had the whole upstairs to ourselves and there was even a Wedding-themed mix CD playing (I’ve been playing it in my car since!). Here is the sign alerting guests to where the party was at:
Here are two of my closest friends (and BM’s), Emily H (left, who co-hosted and I’ve known since fifth grade!) & Emily C (right, who I’ve known since middle school–and is getting married Oct ’08!). Emily C. is showing a quilt square for the memory quilt…
Below you can see the two tables…
And I couldn’t leave out one of the stars of the day: the French Toast! There were three different breakfast options as well as fresh fruit and cut up bagels to start…
Here I am with my sister (before my veil was put on…)
Ah! At last the veil is un-veiled (yes, I couldn’t resist. My apologies). Here I am showcasing the “Bridal Shower Puzzle-O-Rama” that was at every seat. It had a word search, crossword puzzle, logic puzzle (really tough!) and a find-the-differences-between-these-two-pictures puzzle:
After breakfast, I was handed a journal and told to read the “Matt Libs” (Mr. Peppermint is named Matt). When each guest had arrived, along with signing a guestbook and filling out their quilt square, they were asked to provide a word for the Matt Libs. It told a sweet and funny story about how Mr. Peppermint and I met. Don’t tell anyone, but I got a little choked up at the end…
After that we opened gifts…
And what would a shower be without something a little racy…

And the final part of the shower was the desserts! A good friend of mine is an amazing baker (as a hobby) and made these delectable cupcakes. They were dark chocolate with a strawberry center, topped with a buttercream frosting. The rings/flowers on top were white chocolate. Sooooo tasty!!

And, of course, as we left we just HAD to take a few pictures, veil and all…
