Family Portraits

August 20th, 2007 @ 12:29 pm by Mrs. Bluebell

After the ceremony, we took a few quick family portraits before enjoying cocktail hour.

Then we enjoyed a bit of the cocktail hour, took our portraits by the lake, did some toasts, and then got a few group shots of larger family groups.

…but first, Jane took one of my uncle (everyone always loves photographing him!)

For some reason, I love this picture of us all getting into position before we’re fully posed.

But don’t worry - there’s a posed version too!

Beautiful family photos!
How long did it take to do your posed family photos? We’re having a live band at our cocktail hour, and I really don’t want to spend the whole time taking photos. My photographer swears it will only take him 15 minutes to do posed photos, but I’m not sure I believe him!

Oh - I love the doggie photos!!! I’m curious how long it too for the posed family photo too. Especially when the dogs looked so posed as well!

Thanks Kara & Miss Daffodil! :-)

Kara - the posed shots right after the ceremony were for me with my parents, brother, and sister in law in various combinations, and then pretty much all the aunt/uncle/cousin etc combinations for Mr. Bluebell’s side. That took about 30 minutes. Then we spent another 15 before dinner by the barn for the large group shots of my family (all the aunts/uncles/cousins on each of my parents’ sides). There were just too many people to gather together up by the house for my people, and then too MANY of Mr. Bluebell’s which is why we didn’t get one big huge everyone on his side photo. We did have a list of shots, but ended up not really going with it b/c last minute we were like “whatever, we don’t need THAT combination!” etc and changed the order around when some people were around but others weren’t etc. It was a bit chaotic, but still fairly quick though!

Oops, thanks Sara too!

And no, the dogs actually weren’t posed! Jane just really liked them so she made a point of learning their names and talking to them and just getting up in their faces at random points. But seriously, the dog portraits are some of my favorites from the entire day! :-D
