About Mrs. Emerald

For the past few weeks, we have been receiving a flow of gifts that have gotten me all hyped up and giddy. Can we say red Kitchenaid stand mixer and Cuisinart combo blender/food processer?? And how about our lovely Crate and Barrel flatware? And our sheets and duvets? Yahoo!!

But then this weekend there was a special delivery from Mr. E’s older sister, her husband and Mr. E’s two uncles… a goooorrgeeeouuuusss 42″ Pioneer Plasma flat panel TV!!

Finally, A Gift That Made Mr. E Giddy! : wedding registry Z105541 pioneer-pdp507xd

His sister made up this very believable story about how they bought it for their mother (since she actually has been asking for a new TV for the living room), and how it just got delivered, so they would need our help setting it up and moving the old TV (a big heavy clunker) down to the dining room. And then when they actually brought the big ole box inside, she handed me the remote and said, “Enjoy!” I stared blankly at her, wondering why it would be enjoyable for us since we never watch TV in the living room. It took us another 2 minutes to realize that this was for US!! Mr. E was seriously about to pee in his pants, he was so happy!

And then later on, Mr. E was telling his best man about our new toy, and his friend got all quiet. Apparently he and one of our other groomsmen (my best friend) were planning on getting together and buying us a 42″ LCD flat panel!!

The generosity of our friends and family is unbelieveable! Did you guys get anything that blew you away?

That is so nice. Other than my dad paying for the whole wedding my aunt also bought us all of our living room furniture. I love wedding presents!

That’s fantastic!

We also got a Sony 42′ flat screen tv from my parents’ friends for our wedding. In fact, they drove up from VA to NY with the tv and even brought it into the reception room and put it next to the card table/sign-in area.

how cool! For my fiance - since his big expense was my pretty diamond, I got him a flat screen as his engagement gift :)

Awesome! We got our LCD TV from one of the groomsmen… which was astounding and very generous of him!

I think we should try it and post the results of our experiment. They would be beautiful if it would work.

What a good idea, Valerie. I might do that next time I mail a gift.
