E-Pic Destinations…

August 21st, 2007 @ 2:49 pm by Mrs. Cherry Blossom

Of course I have until next year to worry about my E-pics and where we’d love to take ours, but when I saw that Scott Robert (who is our wedding photog - more on him later) posted Christiana and Roger’s e-pics, it got me all excited to all the possible locations that we could take in SF. Mr. Cherry Blossom and I are not as into taking pictures with major landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge since we’ve lived here our whole lives… so it’s a quest for us to find hidden treasures. One of these days, we’re going to set out and explore hidden locations. So here is a list of the most popular places and some others that I’ve come across …. so far:

1.) Legion of Honor
PoLoHMs

2.) Palace of Fine Arts

3.) Bow & Arrow Sculpture along the Embarcadero

4.) San Francisco Ferry Building - also along the Embarcadero - my gf took hers here and it was gorgeous!

If you have more locations - let me know…. I’m still searching. Most of the ones I have in my head, I don’t have names to. But hope this helps. :)

Here are a couple more albums that Scott did in the Bay Area for more inspiration:

Sienny & Minh
Melissa & Tony

Top corner of Dolores Park in Noe Valley. You can see downtown SF, Berkeley Marina, Oakland, Bay Bridge and if you angle it right I believe its Alcatraz.

On a clear day of course :)

I have always wanted to take wedding/e-pics at the palace of fine arts - it’s so beautiful there. Too bad I’m in NY. :(

WOW, so many choices, I don’t know how you will choose!!!

maybe haight/ashbury? it’s such a cool, eclectic neighborhood and very “san francisco!”

also, this isn’t city-specific, but i once saw these amazing e-pics of a couple at a carnival/zoo. the vibrant colors of the carnival popped in the e-pics, and it showcased the goofy/fun nature of the couple. so cute!

Hi Miss. Cherry Blossom:

The link for “Sienny & Minh” is the same as “Melissa & Tony”

SF has so many great places to take your epics! You’re so lucky!!!

If you can make it to Sonoma, there is this place called Cornerstone Gardens. This place has a multiple gardens designed by different people/groups.

Legion of Honor is really cool and the grounds are huge. Plus, there are several really cute spots in the surrounding Presidio. Also, I was just walking through the ferry building this past weekend and remarked how cute it was.

I haven’t been to the Legion of Honor since high school. I would definitely go with the Palace of Fine Arts cause it so beautiful there. Wish there were gorgeous stuff like that in LA but we plan taking our engagement photos at the same place we went to school, met, and proposed. What can I say? If you cut me, I bleed blue and gold.

We did ours at the ferry building/embarcadero center. :-) i liked it b/c the area is so very versatile. pier, city, ocean, bridge, and farmers market all within walking distance!

if you’re not afraid of potentially getting lost, there is the presidio’s officers’ housing…those big gorgeous houses. i love them. there’s also fort mason as well but on a much smaller scale…if you don’t mind the gg bridge in a backgroud or two, there’s a great spot overlooking the bay from behind the hostel at fort mason. they even put in one of the old army cannons too [i used to live on ft. mason when i was younger - those were not there when i was too bad cuz it looks like fun to climb, lol]. ghiradelli square…how about the coit tower area? or even china basin by the ballpark. or even the sf zoo or the there’s always china and japan towns…or even downtown at union square or yurba beuna park? with the mlk memorial/fountain. there’s also the sutro baths where mrs. plumeria, i believe, took her e-pics at.

just off the top of my head ;-)

oooh and i love the melissa and tony slideshow…melissa is one of Mr. D’s childhood friends, and that slideshow was what made us pick up the phone and call Scott!

Hi Miss Cherry Blossom,

What a timely post! We’re in TX now but my fiance lived in the Bay Area for 6 years so whenever I visited, we would take weekend trips to nearby cities. I loved SF so we will be flying our photographer out there to take engagement pics & bridal portraits. Anyway, I thought it would be cute to take a pic fr a streetcar a la` Full House or the Rice a Roni commercial. haha Do you know what area that is? Thanks!

That’s so cool - Scott Robert also did my friend’s daughter’s wedding, and the first album you linked (Christina and Roger’s) was taken at a place I used to live a few years ago. Sigh.

if you don’t mind travelling to napa there is a castle that we took ours at… it’s new and we stumbled upon in by accident and the pics came out beautifully. It’s called castello di amorosa — appropriately named! let me know if you wanna see!

Amy says:

Palace of fine arts is so pretty — but what about at the top of the Lyon St Steps - you can see alcatraz, the GG bridge, the Palace — all so pretty. I love Crissy Field but it can be SUPER windy for pix. There’s also that place in GG park where there are all those cool trees w/out leaves — they sorta remind me of Joshua Trees? I’m forgetting what it is called!!

Meesha says:

If you’re still looking for spots - Try going to Twin Peaks - AWESOME View of the city - and you can climb those little hills to get a more intimate ‘fun’ type of pics. Downtown, you may consider the transamerica tower along with the cable cars . . Union Square where the “Hearts” are or to Lombard (Crokedest) Street. For the Outskirts of SF in Daly City - Thorton Beach has a wonderful clift . . . or you can drive to Pacifica and go to the white sand beaches. Hope this helps!
