About Mrs. Emerald

The time is quickly approaching… Our countdown is now in the teens and I’m starting to get butterflies in my stomach! It seems like just yesterday when we were still at 6 months… I am so excited and anxious for that weekend to come, not just for the wedding, but also for the flurry of other events that will take place! Here is the 411 on the Emeralds’ Wedding Weekend Extravaganza!

Thursday: Big casual BBQ/welcome dinner at my parents’ place for about 25-30 people (mostly relatives)

Friday: Rehearsal + Rehearsal dinner for 50 people

Saturday: THE BIG DAY!

Sunday: Big casual breakfast, again at my parents’ house for about 25-30 people

Sunday Afternoon: Traditional Chinese tea ceremony at Mr. E’s parents’ house

Sunday Night: Huge Chinese wedding banquet for 300+ people

Monday: Hawaii, here we come, hallelujah!

Insane! What other wedding-related events are you having?!

If you’re in the “teens” of your countdown, does that mean you, me AND miss corn are date twins?? That would be too funny — 3 bees on one day?!

That sounds like QUITE the weekend! We don’t have as many events and I’m already overwhelmed planning the hour by hour time lines.

ML, our Satuday event is smaller with 190 guests. Mostly different guestlist from the Sunday event… crazy!

Just wondering for all you asian brides out there. If you’re having an american reception on saturday, I’m going to assume you’re going to have dancing. So if you have the chinese banquet on Sunday, will it all be about food and no dancing?

Yes yours is very packed. We’ll also be doing a welcome at my parent’s house on Thursday for anyone who is already in town. Friday we’ll have golf as an option and Bridesmaids and some female relatives will have a Brunch/luncheon. Then the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner and Saturday the big day!

Mary - I can only speak for mine, but you are correct. Dancing on Saturday, and then food and no dancing on Sunday. The dinner itself on Sunday takes a long time - 10 courses plus cake!!!

When is your wedding? Mine is the 22nd and we’re also leaving for Hawaii the Monday after our wedding. I am starting to the feel the jitters, too! Not to get married, but I just hope everything I need to get done gets done.
