Mrs. Kiwi's Picture
Mrs. Kiwi, Los Angeles Age and Occupation in 06: 27, Bookkeeper Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, P.E. Teach/Coach @ private schools in LA Engagement Date: March 31, 2006 Wedding Date: November 3, 2007 Venue: Radisson Hotel About Me: I'm a bookkeeper who failed high school algebra. I'm currently living in Los Angeles, literally a street over from where I grew up with Mr. Kiwi, my honey of three years. We have a jumbo mini-dachshund (seriously, he's huuuuge), and we're planning an autumn themed wedding on a shoestring, paid for by ourselves. The wedding date is my late grandma's birthday, I needed her there somehow, and that seemed like the best way for us. I can't believe I'm a Bee! I couldn't be more proud!
About Mrs. Kiwi

I Waste Time

August 22nd, 2007 @ 6:31 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

The time has come, the Kiwi said, to speak of other things, of stamps and pens and vellum, and all those kinds of things… (said in the tone of “The Walrus and the Carpenter” from Alice in Wonderland- saddest poem ever)

As I sit here awaiting my cream vellum to be delivered by UPS, and I’m feeling a little antsy. Sure, I may have procrastinated a bit. Okay, a WHOLE lot of a bit, being that we’re addressing the invites on Saturday, but I have my reasons. Sure, not good reasons, but still.

So far the only things we have for the invitations are: the invitations. And those aren’t even complete yet! I need the vellum to print the reception inserts, and I need that to come in today, so I can print them while no one else is in the office. Once printed, I can use the office paper trimmer to cut them down. Of course, this is assuming the UPS guy didn’t steal my paper. Why would they steal paper? Steal from me once, shame on you- steal from me twice, shame on me! I saw the UPS man pull away from the curb, and still, I have no package. angry03

Also due to arrive, is my custom address stamp from Wilshire Graphic Press. I have it done in the same script as the invitation, with a small image of leaves above it. Our names aren’t listed, since I wanted to be able to use it later.

Since I have a history of procrastination, I have also ordered our stamps to come in the mail. We’ve decided to go with the .58 wedding stamp and the Disney stamps for the RSVP. Sure, the Disney ones aren’t romantic, but they’re fitting. Mr. Kiwi surprised me by not wanting Marvel stamps. What on earth?

Now that it’s Wednesday, I still need to get an ink pad (although I DO have a copper colored one), I have to find a pen to address the invitations, and all the items we need for this weekend need to arrive. That’s not stressful at all. And yes, it’s all my fault. :)

Luckily, we have our addresses ready to go, my FMIL is ready to get to work on hand-writing all the invitations (her choice, not ours), and Mr. Kiwi is ready to go to Vegas.

Tick tock, Miss Kiwi.

Don’t worry, once it’s all done, you will be so relieved and accomplished!

Funny, we went to the disney store on sunday after our wedding and they had a kids’ mouse ears with veil. Of course I took a picture with it on! Maybe that will be my wedding gift to you! ;)
