Reem Acra Barbie

August 22nd, 2007 @ 12:16 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

While searching online for a link to the flower girl Barbie, I came upon the Reem Acra Bride Barbie Doll. Sure, I may be too old to play with Barbies but even an adult can appreciate how pretty this doll is!

For the low, low price of $179.94 (seriously??!!), you can have your very own Reem Acra dress. Hehehe. This is what the description says:

Romance and elegance abound in this astounding creation from Reem Acra, one of the leading ladies of luxury bridal wear. Reem Acra® Bride Barbie® doll is stunning in a satiny gown adorned with the designer’s signature beading and embroidery. The incredible long train, complete with intricate bustling and details, makes this dress an absolute showstopper in every sense! Meanwhile, the demure bodysuit adds an air of modesty and mystery to this sublime bridal look. Other accoutrements include simple “pearl” studs and a tiara accenting the doll’s sleek updo, details that allow this showpiece of a gown to shine on its own. Romantic, unique and overwhelmingly chic, the look is the true embodiment of bridal style as only Reem Acra could deliver.

Available in September, this doll is quite the beauty! And insanely priced for a doll- although I would totally wear that dress.

Mattel has a line of designer wedding barbie collectibles. They go up to $300!! You can own your very own Vera Wang one too.

Check it out.

I have to admit, I used to collect them because my FI worked at Mattel, now that he doesn’t get that employee discount anymore, I’ve sold them on Ebay. LOL.

When I was little I had the one from the 60’s! It was fun to play with; wonder what it would be worth today…

those aren’t for little girls. those are for the older men and women who collect them. because really, who’d let their 6 year old play with that? i wouldn’t. it’s too pretty. lol

i agree with you miss kiwi, i’d totally rock that dress though.

Less than $200 isn’t bad for a designer barbie, especially a “bride” one. I love that dress! I was searching through barbies and found that one. I’d love to wear it :) It’s the style I like, with light lace sleeves attached to a strapless dress. Pretty!

My wedding gown was a Reem Acra which my daughter will be forced to wear, LOL! However, I would totally buy this barbie as a keepsake for when I offer my daughter the wedding gown.
