You guys, I totally scored last night!
I stopped by my local Bloomingdales makeup counter to ask if they do application with purchase, since I want to have my face done up for my Sunday Chinese banquet. Before I left the store, I perused the dress department. I came across this lovely ivory taffeta number by BCBG:
Nordstrom is selling it for $400 right now, but it won’t be available until October 31st.
Guess how much I got it for…
$148!!
Seriously! What a steal! And it’s SO much cuter in person.
Since I just snagged the dress last night, there are probably some sizes left at other stores. Call up a Bloomingdales near you. If they don’t have your size, they’ll be happy to check the inventory of other Bloomies and give you a list of those that have your size in stock. You can call the stores yourself and have them ship the dress directly to you.
It’s Chinese tradtion to change into three or four dresses throughout the wedding night. I was going to forgo that tradition because I couldn’t find anything cute or affordable. That is, until yesterday! Now I have a dress I can dance in comfortably. I’ll probably change into it towards the end of the night, perhaps cake cutting?

BUT i can tell you that i did have to call around to find my size. i asked for the dress department and when i got to an associate, I told them, “i’m looking for a short off white BCBG taffeta dress with flower appliques all over.” They knew what i was talking about.
Okay ladies, I just got the last one down here in LA at the Beverly Center, yay! The style number is 653299541268. Happy Hunting!
Oh, and many many thanks Miss Eggplant, I owe my perfect rehearsal dinner dress to you!
BTW, griffen, if you find a deal on some matching ivory shoes, let us know! 
Would you have the sku number??… because the style number will not let them check to see if they have it in other stores.
I’m picking it up after work tonight, so I’ll let you know the sku when I get home (around 10).
Got one! The SKU is 53299541268. The last 2 digits vary by dress size. I was also told by a Bloomingdale’s employee that the style # above is not correct, and that the style # contains letters.
ahh, i tried uisng the sku number but now they say there is a upc number? under the barcode? they said if they physically scanned the dress, they could check if it is at other stores but the stores i called didn’t have it =(
So cute. I could never get away with that dress because to my mom, any white gown other than a full on floor length bridal is not fit for a bride because white is a Chinese funeral color. Sigh. Bleh.
Wow. I went to pick mine up and they said if I didn’t need it until the 30th, I could “pre-sale” it. I had no idea what that meant. Apparently this dress is going on 40% off (I think the $148 is 25% off) soon and that if I gave my cc# to hold it until then I could get the deeper discount. AND, it had the smallest little smudge on one side, so they gave me 15% off on top of the 40%! So, on the 30th of this month I go pick it up for a grand total (tax incl.) of $109.31! Ms. Eggplant, I could just kiss you!
The only # on my tag is 653299541305. Which is different from the one above. I’m really sorry, that’s all I have :(.
warning - b/c it’s on sale bloomies might not be so helpful in the finding it.
I had a HORRIBLE experience with them. I purchased my BM dressed from them and then realized on girl needed a larger size. In the meantime it had went on sale. I call them up, had to speak to a manager, they assure me they find it and it is on it’s way. My card is never charged, dress never arrives. I guess they were too busy to deal with a lowly “shops the sales rack” customer. Good news though, I got nordies to find it for me, and they prices matched the bloomies price. I will probably not shop bloomies again.
griffen, that is SUCH a good deal! I’m totally going in for a price adjustment.

Try calling the New York store 212-705-2000 or the Massachusetts store 617-630-6000. These stores came up as having the dress in a size 6 when the girl did an inventory search for me. Her computer also said that the Chicago store had one, but I was there yesterday and they said they never carried this dress. Good luck!
i would have to say bloomingdale’s has very bad service. I called the massachusetts store and they told me that they shipped 2 dresses out and then told me rudely to call back in 15 minutes and then hung up on me right away. for a store with a lot of high class stuff, they have extremely bad service.

i’m so sorry you are having a horrible experience. My sis works for bloomies and I sent her this blog. She is super upset. She had someone run the sku last night and got below as availabilty although it is only for whatever size griffen needed.
I called the short hills one this morning and got mine by simply calling. They were nice and hopefully they’ll send it.
I followed up with my sis about your experience and she said for you to call a personal shopper at your closet store and they should help you. I used the above 653299541305 as sku # but she said it depends on siz, last four, so below may only be the ones for that size.

thanks everyone for helping me out on getting this dress!!! ….and I finally got it!! so after calling about 10 bloomingdale stores and hearing that very lovely automated system to get to a person, I saw that nordstrom had a price matching policy. I called up nordstrom and they were able to locate the price of the dress at a bloomingdales store and are shipping it to my house (it is backordered though). But they are also going to ship me a size 2 and 4 because I wanted to make sure it fit. My wedding is next May so there was no rush =P and it will be a great dress change to to hit the dance floor in =D. So others can also try the way I did if they don’t have their size =)

yeah, i had someone from nordstrom call one of the places from bloomingdales (it should be one of the stores that has it in stock) and then get the price there. let me know if that doesnt work!
Mine arrived in the mail today and it looks GREAT on! I also went to Bloomingdales and they happily did the price adjustment for me (thanks griffen!). Any ideas on what kind of shoes and jewelry to pair with it? The dress has so much character that I don’t want to overdo it.
