Among the many paper products that are requisite for weddings is the all-important place card. Now, believe it or not, a wedding could go on without this item. People somehow would manage to find seats (though they would not be assigned). And I will bet that ten years down the line, no one would even remember that you neglected to have name tags. You might even save yourself some time and energy in creating the seating chart. All that being said, I’ve been diligently surfing the web to find what could be the perfect place card for my upcoming nuptials…
The most cost-effective (aside from not doing them) and simple option is the classic place card. This sample was found on mountaincow and demonstrates what you can do with paper and a half-way decent printer.
Our next selection is an upgrade from the DIY paper version above. Another tasteful example but this time placed within a frame that guests can keep (and reuse!). Priced at $1.19/each at the knot shop.
This next lovely alternative offers both the functionality of a place card holder combined with the aesthetic and mood-creating advantage of housing a candle. The Rosemary Company prices it at $1.95/each (place card not included).
Similar to the dual-functionality of the previous example, this combines a name tag with a rose bud (once again enhancing the visual look of the table). You can find this lovely at Wedding Favors - Smart for $1.6o/each (if you order over 96, the price goes down to $1.10).
Now, since I am doing a destination wedding, I would be remiss to forget the popular travel-themed place card holders. Here you give your guests a cool gift (okay, maybe not cool, but useful!) as well as help to create a theme for the wedding. This silver-plated baby can be found on Wedding Favors - Smart for $3.60/each (a bit pricey, but if you’re having a small destination wedding, could be a nice touch…)
For a more reasonable alternative to the silver-plated luggage tag above, there is this option. Also found on Wedding Favors - Smart, it costs $1.40/each
And, because I simply couldn’t resist (found here)…
Mr. Peppermint, if you’re reading this…do not fret. We aren’t having a peppermint-themed wedding…or at least in the sense of the candy…What I mean to say is that we’ll definitely be having a Mr. & Mrs. Peppermint themed extravaganza, but do not worry, I will not be using peppermint place card holders!
