The French Connection - Part Deux

August 27th, 2007 @ 6:49 pm by Mrs. Petunia

I didn’t just think about myself when I heard about the Paris theme for my bridal shower! I also immediately started looking for thank you notes and hostess gifts.

I first considered two possible thank you cards:

The Pink Merci Eiffel Tower Thank You Card Set by Etsy seller petitebear:

The French Connection - Part Deux : wedding bridal shower ft. lauderdale thank you Il 430x

Or the Natalie Eden Eiffel Merci Greeting Card from Luxe Paperie:

Then Miss Butterscotch blogged about these Paper-Source Merci notes and I think they might be even better because of green and pink being our wedding colors (I think Miss Butterscotch and I may be Bee Twins!):

I then discovered these at Wrapables.com and thought they would make perfect hostess gifts. Plus, check out their description: “Give a little piece of France this holiday season with our Archipelago Botanicals Royals Short Candles. These glass candles have a damask emblem on the glass and they come in a decorative box that celebrates the decadence of eighteenth century royals. The decorative gift boxes are covered with an elaborate damask design with a beautiful velvet ribbon and a removable, fully functional jewelry pouch.” I heart when pretty meets function!

I’d also love to use this wrapping paper from Midori Ribbon for the candles:

What are you getting your bridal shower hostess(es)?

Yeah, that is something I really need to think about, since my shower is this upcoming weekend and I have no clue. That stuff is absolutely adorable!

Ooh, another French motif is the fleur-de-lis.

I was going to give them a nice thank you note. Are gifts for throwing a shower required now?

Hi Rory! Actually, I’m not sure if there’s a specific “shower protocol”, honestly. I guess I thought of it more as a hostess gift in general.

I love the first two Thanks You cards. My girlfriends threw a cocktail/wine tasting themed shower. For hostess gifts and favors and I personal cocktails (purchased from Amazon.com) and made individual recipe books.

The shower was thrown by my mom and sister. For my mom I got two beautiful coffee cups from Anthropologie and some hand lotion she loves. For my sister (MOH) I got an address book and matching notepad from Thomas Paul.

I like the Paper Source merci notes, but personally I prefer the first thank you card set. Those are cute gifts!

Mine was a tea party, so I ordered blooming tea from Raritea for them. They loved it!

I like the Merci beaucoup the best…I really prefer the first two over the “Merci” one.
I just sent a thank you card to my hostess and have not gotten them a gift yet…need to work on that!
