Real Weddings: Juliette and Mark

August 28th, 2007 @ 1:00 pm by Mrs. Peony

Last September Mr. Peony and I took a trip to Seattle to attend the wedding of Juliette and Mark. We all attended the same university and so it was quite sweet to see fellow college sweethearts tying the knot. I met Juliette when she and Mark had first started dating, so it was quite emotional to witness their vows.

Juliette and Mark are such a stylish couple that I knew it would be a spectacular wedding. In fact, it actually exceeded my expectations and beyond. So it was no big surprise when they announced that their wedding was being featured in the Seattle Metropolitan Bride & Groom magazine! Juliette has graciously agreed to share the magazine layout for Weddingbee readers:

Do you notice anything in the bouquet toss picture? Take a closer look:

Okay you can barely tell that it’s me. I hardly ever go up for bouquet tosses but I’m so glad my friends dragged me up there. Because now I can say I was in a wedding magazine! laughin051

More details from their wedding can be found on their page in the Seattle Metropolitan Bride & Groom website.

I think one of the best parts of their reception was when their videographer, Edit 1 Media, showed a same-day-edit clip of their wedding ceremony. Everyone was expecting a slideshow when people starting setting up a screen and A/V equipment; however, the video just blew everyone away. There was not a dry eye in the room as the clip finished - even the men were sniffling!

You can see the clip on the Edit 1 Media blog here: http://edit1media.blogspot.com/2007/01/juliette-mark.html

As I was watching the video, I kept wondering to myself if Juliette and Mark had staged a wedding the week before, with hired extras as the guests. silly048 The video was that good - no one could believe that it had been compiled and edited in just one hour.

Wedding videos have had a bad reputation attached to them for quite some time. However, many videographers these days are doing a fantastic job rising above the old methods - this was the first time that I had seen a wedding video that was done this elegantly, especially for a same-day-edit! They can also be fun and/or intimate, which is also beautiful in its own way (Mrs. Butterfly’s video comes to mind).

Congratulations once again, Juliette and Mark! And thanks for sharing your special day with us!

I love the earrings that Juliette is wearing!! Those are exactly what I was looking for! Do you know what brand they were or where she bought them?
Thanks!
