Take Me To Vegas…

August 28th, 2007 @ 8:28 am by Mrs. Licorice

When I heard all the buzz about the influx of passport requests, I was super nervous about getting mine on time. I had it expedited with overnight shipping both ways, and that seems to have done the trick. It cost quite a bit more, but the price was nothing compared to the thought of not going to Paris.

Please excuse the stupid expression on my face; the flash was bright:

Take Me To Vegas... : wedding honeymoon Passpor
As a side note, I was a military brat born in Germany. I haven’t traveled internationally since I was a small child. Here is my last passport picture:

Haha! I look like an alien baby! I’m very happy to start collecting stamps as a full-fledged adult!

I’m kind of bummed that I’ll have to surrender my passport with my wedding/honeymoon stamp for replacement when I legally change my name, but what can you do…

LOL. Miss Licorice, considering how I look in my recent passport photo, I think you did pretty well. :)

Getting a passport is soooo much fun!! Don’t ya feel so worldly?

I never knew babies had to have passports, too! Ya learn something new everyday!

BTW, I also share your birthday…but 5 years before. :)

We had to expedite ours as well - and paid a lot more money… but I guess the peace of mind that it will be here in time is worth it!

Miss Licorice, how long did it take for you to receive your passport from the day that you ordered it (including the expedited fees and additional charge for overnight shipping both ways)? We are going to get ours today, and we are less than 5 weeks away from the wedding/honeymoon. Do you think that is enough time? … or should we start looking for a honeymoon location in the U.S.? :(

AMK: I had to give them my baby passport, but they mailed it back. Maybe you’ll get yours back, too. :)

Valerie: I got my passport in about 11 days if I remember correctly. I think you have enough time to try for that international honeymoon. Overnight shipping + expedited service is the way to go if you are low on time!

Yay for Feb. 3 babies!

I don’t want to burst your “stamp bubble” Miss Licorice, but you may not get any stamps. My dear bf ( whom I call Mr. Kolibrik , aka Mr. Hummingbird) is American and when we went to Sweden this summer ( via Denmark) he didn’t get any stamps on the way there. I have EU passport, so there is no hope for me when it comes to stamps, haha. Since 27 European countries are now part of the EU you don’t need to go through the customs when hopping between these countries, or at best they check that it’s you, no stamp. But, so you are not sad, Caribbean countries all stamp, and of course if you travel outside Europe.

Congratulations on your new passport and have fun in Paris :-D
