I can’t believe it has been almost two months since we got married… I am not sure where the time went! And I thought things would calm down after the wedding.
I have been in full album making mode (and by being in full mode, I mean thinking about it every day). I have been struggling with what type of album I want to make (Mrs. Ant’s posts have been very helpful), and have come to the conclusion that I am just going to have to take my time in searching to find the right one for us and stop adding all this pressure that it has to be finished by Christmas.
So, I’m really writing because I want to share the text from our maid of honor and best man’s speeches. (We are still waiting for Mr. Raspberry’s brother to send us his, so I just have the MOH speech for now)
Now, when I told her that I wanted to post it, she freaked out and said that it was so much better when she actually delivered the speech, which is totally true, since she added a few little anecdotes, but I wanted to share since so much thought goes into writing these, I thought it might help in sparking ideas for other MOHs.

Here it is…
Sarah and I have been best friends for almost 20 years.
When Sarah and I first met at sheldon elementary, it was a simple kindergarten friendship of sharing a seat on the bus, sharing crayons, and sharing snacks. And believe me she had good snacks.
Throughout our elementary and middle school days, sarah and I grew closer. We went from sharing crayons to sharing clothes and spending summers at each other’s houses. When my spare toothbrush became a permanent fixture in the Meyer bathroom, Mr. & Mrs. Meyer very graciously accepted me as their fourth daughter. This was when I knew Sarah and I would be friends forever.
We had the best time growing up together. In high school we practically did everything and anything together and still would talk for hours and hours on the phone until late at night. We both loved adventures, playing sports (particulary gym class sports), and being involved in school activities. When it came time for us to graduate from high school, we were both ready to take on the world.
Although we chose different colleges, Sarah and I knew our friendship would last. Conveniently our colleges were only a couple hours away and we took turns commuting back and forth. One day i remember getting a call from Sarah saying she asked this boy on a date!!!
And she really really liked him. It didn’t take long for this boy to win her heart over and four years later here we are today.
Sarah & Hockley were meant for each other. They are both outstanding, talented people with overwhelming love for one another. I’ve always admired Sarah for her energy, enthusiasm, kindness, and drive to succeed at whatever she puts her mind to. She has inspired me countless times over the years and I am so thankful to have her as my best friend. Hockley is a wonderful and caring person with many of the same great qualities as Sarah. (Hockley is a pretty good guy too). Hockley, my advice to you is: when it comes down to it, just let Sarah win because we women are right almost all of the time anyway. And also remember that sarah may be your wife, but when it comes to friendship, I definitely have seniority.
Thank you both very much for asking me to be a part of your very special day. Would everyone please join me in raising your glasses to a toast to Sarah and Hockley for a very happy and fulfilling lifetime together. Cheers.
