A Fun Check Off The List!

September 4th, 2007 @ 5:32 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

This weekend, Mr. Kiwi and I set some goals we wanted to accomplish. One was: get my wedding band. Another one was: get his tie. Well, no tie, but we got my wedding band!!

As I’ve been planning our wedding, I’ve been very wishy washy about this wedding band thing. Recently, I flip flopped with two different posts: one about absolutely getting a diamond wedding band, and another one about wanting to save money and get a plain band.

When Mr. Kiwi and I went to try on plain bands, he absolutely didn’t like the plain band. He thought it looked really crappy with my e-ring. So, he wanted me to try on diamond bands- channel set and prong set. After trying on different kinds, and different carat weights, we decided on this band:

Blurry Crappy Ring in box

The ring sitting next to its new fingermate (my center stone is F color, so the yellow color is a reflection of my shirt).

And another of them together

And a side by side shot- blurry since our macro SUCKS:

Anyway, I love my new band. They look like they were made for each other! The stones are on the top half only, and they are about the same size as the ones on my engagement ring. The band tapers at the top, so it’s the same size as my engagement ring, but is a little wider at the bottom.

Luckily Mr. Kiwi had “connections” and we ended up getting my 14WG band for 279.00. More than we were considering spending on the ring, but he wants this band to be forever, so it’s worth it. :)

Gorgeous ring — it looks a lot like mine, so I’m more than a little biased! ;)

Love it! Is that a radiant cut ring? What size is it if you don’t mind me asking. It’s gorgeous.

Your rings look very happy together! Lovely choice. $279 for a diamond eternity band is nothing to sneeze at, props to Mr. Kiwi’s “connections”.
