Who Needs A Watch On Our Honeymoon?

September 4th, 2007 @ 1:33 pm by Mrs. Apple

…since we vacationed in Switzerland! As we were waiting for our flight to depart, we realized that neither one of us have a watch. We even considered purchasing a $20 watch at the airport, but decided against it since we’ll be staying in one of the world’s most popular watch industries. We were hoping we could just use the street clocks, cuckoo clocks, tower clocks that were available - and we did! Yes!

We had a wonderful time visiting Germany, France, and 12 different Swiss towns in 14 days! Yes, we felt like nomads traveling to a new hotel every 2 days, but in the end it was worth all of the many days of sore legs and blistered feet.

We took over 700 photos so lets see if I can narrow down to two-three favorite photos for every city we visited.

We landed in Zurich on our first day - luggage got lost so we spent the day exploring the city.

kp: In the past i’ve always found “Lonely Planet Guide” a great travel book with tons of information but on this trip we used a combination of 2 travel books plus the “I” (Information) Tourist Terminal in Switzerland and Germany.

We used “The Rough Guide to Switzerland” - its more of a budget/back packers guide to travel. We found it was fairly useful in that it had a short snyopsis of each cities history and the maps were great too.

The other reference was “Eyewitness Travel Guide to Switzerland”. This book had beautiful photos with descriptions of must see sights.

They both had lodging and restaurant listings like most travel books but we visited each cities “I” Terminal. That was by far the best option to go if you’re ever in Switzerland. I’m not sure if most European cities have this, though.

It’s basically a tourist office with tons of information (local city maps, day tours, which hills/mountains to hike up, gondola rides, restaurants, museums, itours that we used were rented out here, etc) You can also purchase tickets for ferry rides, gondola rides, train rides etc. They even have view cams that shows the whether conditions! Hope this helps!
