About Mrs. Corn

Oh, So THIS Is What People Stress Over

September 6th, 2007 @ 12:47 pm by Mrs. Corn

I have done a pretty good job of having everything organized, but I knew that there were things that would have to wait to the last second…like figuring out the logistics of getting people’s stuff out of the bridal suite, etc. I just didn’t expect it to put me over the edge so quickly. With two days to go, it really is a battle to remind myself that the wedding is really about Mr. Corn and I getting married, and if a few people are annoyed or talk smack about some detail that isn’t to their liking, I just need to let it go.

What put me over the edge yesterday, was a combination of 1) getting a new table layout from the rental company (after I had painstakingly made my table envelopes) 2) realizing that there was a vendor that I COMPLETELY forgot about (I am picking up a full sized mirror from a rental company since the condo where I am getting ready doesn’t have one) and 3) finding out that moments after I had printed our out-of-towner wedding newsletters (something I will have to post about after the big day) the time changed for the shuttle information that is included in said newsletters.

This morning is a new morning. I have mani’s and pedi’s with my mom and sister this morning, so that will be good for relaxing. In the meantime, I am going to fix the table situation and leave a message for the mirror people.

Wish me luck…and uh…patience and calmness while you are at it. ;)

Remember not only to breathe IN deeply, but also to breathe OUT. ;) It’ll all be fine, don’t stress yourself any more than you have to.

Ah - my wedding is on Saturday as well and despite all my organization, the last 48 hours have been fraught with stress including two flat tires (three hours apart…on the SAME car!) that prevented us from getting a lot of last minute things done. It’s so bad at this point that it’s funny! :-)

My fiance and I looked at each other this morning and said “This is about US” and we vowed to keep it about us no matter what crazy nonsense swirls around us - because I’m quite sure something will not go as planned.

Focus on you and Mr. Corn and let all the other things go (i know, easier said than done!)….enjoy every moment!

All of your posts have been so informative. This one was as well - quite frankly how would anyone not forget minor details just days before they are to wed?

It’s easier said than done to “take time for yourself” but do your best.

Can’t wait for the wedding day recap and to see how the reenactors turned out. That’s such a cool touch.

Best of luck to you both!

Don’t worry, I think you have a great mentality about the day being purely about you & your fiance! I think as long as you guys focus on each other & not the itty bitty details, everything will be great!

No matter what you do, especially planning far away, there are last minute things you can’t control. I just found out there is another party (40 people) at the restaurant where we booked our rehearsal dinner. We’ll be 32 people and we now have to be outside on their “patio” which is just a gravel tented area next to their parking lot. NOT what I had in mind. I will have to talk with the owner tonight but there is nothing I can do — the food will still be good, people will have fun and it’s not supposed to rain — on no, the rain seems to be saving itself for the wedding on Saturday! But again — pink rain boots and umbrella. No tears yet. Perhaps it will make for some great pictures.

Anyway — point is — people will get seated, they will enjoy and have fun and be honored to be celebrating with you and Mr. Corn. Have a BLAST my dear.

Cheers,
Miss Onion
