It took me a long time to decide what kind of details I wanted for my wedding. Ironically, I ended up making completely different decisions on my dress, shoes, and hair. I first thought I wanted a princess gown with a LONG train since the church has a gorgeous long aisle. For shoes I thought I’d end up wearing sneakers, honestly. And as for my hair, I knew I wanted it all down, but recently changed my mind because it was difficult finding the hairstyle I wanted.
These were the type of dresses I originally wanted:

I always thought I wanted a very soft, casual A-line look. However, when I went to my first bridal store, I couldn’t find anything like those dresses so I just let the sales lady pick some out for me.
Here are some pictures of my first gown fitting. I really liked the patterns, but for some reason… it just didn’t seem like it was very “me.” I also told myself I’d NEVER wear a strapless for my wedding gown because I am super self conscious about my arms. I was looking for halter tops, and LOTS of poof!

I did, however, LOVE how small my waist looked in this! It came with a built-in corset and I was seriously about to keel over at that time because it was so tight, so I knew I couldn’t take this dress.

Here’s the 2nd dress. I loved the train, but I just thought the front didn’t fit my body right. I also thought the middle part was kind of ugly, I wanted to have more of a dip.

So after all that, THIS is the beautiful dress I ended up with! I shall post pictures of me actually IN the dress later. *Mr. Caramel, don’t look!*
TA DA!!

I bought the dress for $1400 (400 over my budget but oh well!) at Marylinn’s Bridal in Beverly Hills. The brand is Pronovias. The lady who helped me was named Auzi and she’s one of those ridiculously beautiful & exotic women that make you feel like you should go work out and get plastic surgery immediately. But she was really nice!

I ended up with a off white, mermaid cut, modern dress that bunches in 2 places on each side. It has straps but no halter top like I thought I wanted. The reason I LOVE this dress more and more is because it is COMFORTABLE. It is made out of silk and I think I can get away with just wearing Spanx and no horribly uncomfortable corset. One bad thing is that it has almost NO train, so I want to compensate with a long decorative cathedral length veil. (It is being hand made right now by my good friend!)
I’ve also decided on wearing silver shoes and having my hair very vampy and sleek instead of casual. I figured my dress is very modern and I wanted to also have a very modern chic look.
My last gown fitting is on Sept 13 and I’m so excited to see what it looks like!
