About Mrs. Plumeria

At The Church…

September 7th, 2007 @ 5:54 pm by Mrs. Plumeria

Flowers were distributed upon our arrival into the small bride’s chamber…

My shoes! Mrs. Snow Pea and I were shoe twins, except mine were silver. This was a last minute purchase, mostly due to my dress being about an inch too long. I figured that I would rather buy a different pair of shoes, with a higher heel, than pay over a hundred to take a small slice off of the front of the dress.

My ring. Somehow it always slides around like that. Oh well.

All together now! Every single one of my bridesmaids was just beautiful.

“I love my flowers… ” I think at this point, I was just feeling so overwhelmed with excitement and happiness. I was excited to be so close to getting married to Mr. P, I was excited to be getting ready with the girls, my closest friends in the world, I was excited to walk down the aisle and see Mr. P at the end of it. Seeing everything, after imagining and planning for months — the beautiful bouquets of flowers, all of the girls surrounding me in their dresses, my own face in the mirror, framed with tulle — it was really surreal to me.

I love the next two pictures because they really capture that moment when it really hit me: “We’re getting married today!” Of course, I knew this all while we were preparing, but I think this is the first time I really saw myself, full-length, in the mirror, and realized what was happening…

Photos with two of my other dear friends, from two different views…

And some more, with my lovely mom. She looked great in her dress and these photos mean a lot to me!

Not your typical mom-and-daughter shot, but I think this one conveys our relationship better than the frontal view. She has always been a support to me, and her marriage with my dad is truly exemplary…

And the wedding party could not be complete without our adorable flower girl (and my new niece)! She was perfect in every way… I only wish we could see her more, since we live far apart from her and her family.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the church… the guys were prepping as well!

… and also playing games. :)

A prayer with our pastor…

Ready to be married!

Here we go.

To be continued.

Thank you! :)

The flowers — I’ll definitely post closeups soon; the bms’ bouquets were all cream/yellow roses, white/green callas, yellow freesia, green hypernicum berries, and beargrass. My own bouquet was similar, except all in shades of cream and white, and had the addition of creamy-hued tulips as well.

The bms’ dresses were all custom-made with patterns by McCall’s (check your local fabric store). If you read back in my posts to my bridesmaids’ newsletter you can see the details there!

HTH!
