I’m Turning Blue Over Here!

September 7th, 2007 @ 12:31 pm by Mrs. Gummi Bear

Normally Mr. GB goes to get the mail when the post rings the bell because I have a tendency to only be half dressed at all times, but he was in the bathroom (haha, now the whole world knows you potty!) and so I threw a sweatshirt on and ran down the stairs. It was addressed to Mr. GB, and being the law abiding citizen and trusting girl that I am… I ripped that sucker open within seconds of it being placed in my hands. Before Mr. GB had come out, I was running into the living room with my treasures.

This is about the point where I was going “zomg zomg zomg!!!!1111one” in that internet message board way. With the Zs and 1s included.

After my depression in not being able to get the birds for my cake topper, I hadn’t expected a single bird to come to my door. Now I have 3 special secret birds!

Mr. GB says not to hold my breath (yea, uh huh) because he doesn’t want me to get disappointed, but there might be more in our future. More birds?! After a few 15 minutes of being shaken vigorously and beat up for secret keeping, I…. totally didn’t calm down. Now I am going to hold my breath, and like a 6 year old in the back seat I’ll be asking him every 30 minutes until the morning of “are they coming yet???” He can threaten to turn the car around, but I’m keeping the birds even if he’s leavin’.

I am SO totally marrying you.

meladoriem: yes! he did win them an auction (at any cost, apparently) He knew I was heartbroken, so he checks the blog DAILY. There might be hope for more in the future, keep your fingers crossed!

Irene: we might! Mr. GB says he’s working on something… so all these secrets might mean more goodness in brown boxes for the future!

Petunia: thanks! He keeps asking if we get more, if I’ll sell them. HELL NO, I’m going to swim in birds!

You are such a lucky girl!

I LOOOOOOOOVE Ann Wood, the birds, the ships, everything. I hope you get some adorable cake toppers too! :) That is such a sweet thing for Mr. GB to do.

Ooooh! I’m so jealous.

I also DESPERATELY wanted an Ann Wood cake topper but they were way too expensive. I settled on a Wilton birdcage topper instead. It was okay, but it was no Ann Wood.

You lucky, lucky girl!

Hi, Miss GummiBear!

Totally off topic here, but I seem to remember you having your engagement ring custom made in SF–could you please send me the name of your jeweler? We are shopping around to get my ring custom made, and since you had a good experience with yours and are in our area, I thought I’d ask. Thanks lady! I’m at aimee.peony [at] gmail.

Also, Ann Wood birds are the loveliest things ever!

Radish: we saved so much money on the cake that I felt it was time to splurge. ok, so I always think it’s time to splurge, but for once, he agreed with me - but she stopped making them when we decided to go for it! I’m so lucky that he managed to get three!

Tulip: Officially I cannot condone pressuring Mr. Tulip. Unofficially, you deserve birds and if a guilt bath works, then so be it!!! Just be sure to give him a sad, longing look whlie he’s reading it. and maybe an empty bird cage will help point him in the right direction!
