Thank You Gifts

September 10th, 2007 @ 10:26 am by Mrs. Violet

This is how I went about choosing our bridal thank you gifts - it had to be practical, nice and sentimental. I took care of the girls, flower girl, ringbearer, usher & FSIL, while Mr. Violet took care of the guys.

I bought a set of 12 white paper bags, embellished it with paper posies and personalized it with their names and title.

Each BM received a personalized 6 x 6 mini scrapbook.

Each girl also received a travel purse, handmade by fellow etsian, Jonasbags! She did a fabulous job and all the girls raved about these handmade keepsakes! (psst.. I also bought an extra one for myself!)

For the guys, each GM received this heavy duty Inova flashlight. It may be an odd gift to give, but each GM loved it and I think Mr. Violet did a good job in picking these. Oh and of course, he also bought one for himself as well.

Our usher, who helped with our programs and protected our gift box received a lovely pair of old Bristish coin cufflinks. These were also hand assembled and bought on Etsy.

Each BM and GM also received a personal handwritten letter from us. Well, I wrote it and Mr. Violet proofed it. That’s 9 letters in total! I decided not to make cards for this one. Instead, I used Papyrus stationery, a birthday gift given to me from my MOH, Chris many years ago.

For our beautiful flower girl, it was also her birthday so we bought her a pretty purple shirt (her favorite color), and gave her a handmade necklace and bracelet set which I made.

It looked so pretty on her.

Our ringbearer received this cute book along with a bag of Japanese treats.

My SIL was so helpful during wedding planning. Not only did she make my veil, she also helped me finish sewing my ring pillow. To thank her, we gave her a box of chocolates bought from Harrod’s in London along with a set of my handmade Thank You cards.

A lot of these gifts were DIYed, and yes it did take me a long time to make… but again, I started very early planning, preparing and making. I think everyone was touched by our gifts. Quoting my buddy Stan, “Mission Accomplished.”

Wow, I love those thank you gifts. They are really thoughtful, especially those cute purses from Etsy. Another idea suggesstion that I’ve seen given out at weddings is a piece of the wedding cake. It’s a great way to say Thank You to the guests and give them a reminder of your special day!
