Once we had colors for the wedding, I tried creating a mood board. Sadly it’s nothing I can share here, as it’s a pieced-together Word document (yeah, I’m low-tech!), and the photos were collected before I started worrying about things like attributing sources….
But I did find the process as helpful as everyone says, in terms of developing an idea. From my original idea of a cherry blossom themed wedding, instead a lantern theme began to emerge. Actually, lanterns and parasols. And sari fabric, and orchids. Really, the picture in my head is sort of “European socialite on tour in the East in the 1930s,” but “lantern theme” is just so much simpler to say.
So I was thrilled to find this stationery from The Paper Source. It has lanterns, it has our red and turquoise colors, it’s somehow simultaneously elegant and a touch quirky, it has a bit of a vintage feel — basically, it’s my lazy girl’s mood board in one piece!

Oh, how I love stationery. In fact, it’s one of the areas where my penny-pinching tendencies often fall apart completely. In other words, I’ve also purchased these from Rock Scissor Paper:

Chinese Lantern enclosure cards and gift tags (not shown) to grace the bridal party gifts, and a pack of glittery Chinese Lantern cards for special thank yous. Aren’t they perfect??
