Hi!

Before we got married, my wife and I were looking for a creative cupcake tree for our cupcakes at our wedding which had a tree of life/love theme. We didn’t like the boring typical cupcake tree (stair type, stacked type). We wanted something that represented us, our wedding, and our eco-friendly beliefs.

We came across this page and one other page with Tricia’s cupcake tree without the cupcakes. We liked what we saw. So we decided to make our own. We used styrofoam to create a 3D prototype that was very loosely based on a drawing of our tree (that was to become the tree for the wedding invites, wedding stationary, etc). From there, we knew our design was viable and we ran with it.

The cupcake tree was the hit of the wedding. Everybody just had to take pictures of it. You’d not believe it. There probably are more pictures of that tree than of the happy newlyweds. :) Yes, we jest, but you get the idea.

Before we share with you the link, we wanted to thank the original poster for posting this up which gave us the idea to build our own cupcake tree, and to Tricia and her hubs for “pioneering” this idea.

Here’s a link to the cupcake tree that we made.

In case we get emails, the total cost to build this was around $150-200 because we used real wood.

Again, MANY THANKS!
Todd and Abbie
