Mr. Petunia’s awesome mom and my MOH were busy bees this past Saturday, scoping out clubhouses and restaurants all day until they came across this lovely French restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale and they were sold. My Paris-themed wedding shower is on now fo sho!
We struggled with choosing a date because, since the wedding is in early March, we didn’t want to pick a day for the shower too soon right after the holidays (I know people have already spent plenty of dinero then), nor push it too close to the wedding (when they’re already feeling the pressure to buy another gift) so best we could do was settle on a day in mid January.
I’m not even sure what the “gift” protocol for showers is these days anyway (and my sister already asked me!): do guests bring “personal” things, like lingerie? Items off the gift registry? Anything they’d like? Just their company (that would be fine, too!)?
In the meantime, I’m getting my beret ready…

About Me: Our original idea of running off to get married quickly turned into an event with 100+ guests once other people got involved and I, too, got swept away in the lovely madness that is wedding planning. My shower is this weekend, and I’ve let my BMs know I’d rather not make it a lingerie type of shower… it just isn’t me. That being said, they told people where we have registered if they needed “help” finding the appropriate gift.
