Part 6: The Cocktail Hour
Here’s the official last batch. Beware, this one is huuuuuuuge. Most photos are from Sergio Photographer, but again a few are from friends.
To pick up where we left off, after the cocktail hour, we jumped right into the reception. Here we are standing outside, just about to make our big entrance:

This what the room looked like when we walked in (but with people!). The colors are a bit off because the lighting in the room was really yellow, but we had sea green table cloths that were just barely metallic, with cream chair covers and high and low centerpieces:

Close up of the high flowers:

Table numbers (made by Mr. Lily!):

Menu and favor:

The menu was made by Mr. Lily. He’s got skills. The favor tags were made by Mr. Lily and me (he printed, I stamped them out, glued on a crystal, and did all the bow tying). The favors were stuffed by my parents and I. This took, wayyyyyyyyyy, longer than expected!

Our first dance:

C’mon and join us everyone!

Getting ready to to the hora… little did I know I would totally melt down and freak out!

Hey, I’m up in the air!

Holy $#!@, I’m up way high!

Mr. Lily trying to convince me to let go of the chair and share the napkin with him. There was no way that was gonna happen!

Hallelujah, I am back on solid ground:

OK, lets dance! Me with my new brother-in-law:

Swing me around, Dad!

OK, everyone take a break and sugar up:

I know one little boy who went candy, crazy — our ring bearer!

Back to the dancing, it’s time for the father-daughter dance:

Time for a few toasts. These were really heartfelt and wonderful:

Look, my girls are wearing the pashminas I gave them!

Just in case the candy buffet didn’t provide enough of a sugar high, lets eat cake! (Sadly, the cake had an accident on the way to the reception. More on this later. Briefly, originally there was supposed to be a big bottom tier –I wanted a HUGE cake– and no flowers, but hey… at least there is a cake and it’s still pretty!) The cake is sea green, but it’s hard to tell here:

How the heck do we cut this thing?

Here you go, honey:

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Citris cake with fresh raspberries and cream cheese frosting inside, covered with buttercream. So freakin good!:

Tuxedo strawberries too!

A sugary kiss!

OK!!! Lets boogie some more!

Cutie mommy and daddy:

Gimme a twirl, babe:

Don’t ask, I don’t remember…

Shake your groove thing:

Wow, it’s hard to dance and talk!

Uh-oh, the party starts to break down. Jackets are off and ties are on heads. This is a friend, not Mr. Lily…

I wear my sunglasses at night…

Bridesmaids gone wild!

My new mother-in-law struts her stuff:

Baby, it’s time to say goodnight and head to the after party and hot tub!

Good-night!
