Album Design Links: Part I

Most brides nowadays educate themselves on the different photography styles available. But did you know that there are several different album design styles out there?

There are many different approaches (traditional, modern, fun, etc), styles (colorful, minimalist, scrapbook-look, etc), and special effects (filmstrip, selective color, fading, borders, drop shadows, text, graphic designs, etc). Here, take a peek.. happy041

These albums are gorgeous, and all so unique. And to think; at my wedding, I had a semi-professional photographer do our shots and all I got was a CD. I then went to Target and bought and made all the albums myself! I only wish I could have afforded something this beautiful, thanks for sharing…

oh my gosh, i love this! while i was going over your post, i’m discovering that i love the one that’s like a yearbook, with descriptive text and all, like Ever After’s book. thanks for this! i never would have known that i’d be drawn to that style!

Yikes. Based on the document design course I just completed, a lot of these would not pass muster. The one with the cut-out wedding party superimposed in a slightly different scale on a photo of the bride and groom, for example, is really jarring.

People shouldn’t notice the design. They shouldn’t notice how many photoshop techniques you know, and how many times you used them. They should see the photos and nothing else.
