About Mrs. Licorice

Slacker

I’ve been pretty busy setting up our new apartment (and dealing with the Financial Aid department at school, bleh), so I haven’t gotten around to blogging about DIY fun. Thus, I am taking the easy way out; here are some non-pro wedding pics:

Dancing with Sissy Licorice; dad is laughing hard about I don’t know what.

My dad and my friend thought they could combine their married years in order to win the Anniversary Dance…LOL.

Seeing all these sorority traditions make me a little bit nervous about what sort of weird fraternity stuff my fiance’s friends are going to do.

The veil “schwing!” shot is awesome! It’s like a cartoon of what happens when you kiss the bride, like a girl who raises one foot behind her from a really awesome kiss.

Oh, let me tell you what weird fraternity stuff is sure to go down at our wedding…because we’ve seen it at other brothers’ weddings…they all get in a circle with their arms around each other, drop their pants, and sing “Piano Man” in their boxers! I’m not sure if I think this is cute or ridiculous or embarrassing or all of the above.

Great pics Mrs. Licorice! I love your venue. The cocktail hour in the trees looks so pretty.

Oh goodness…until this I was thinking of my happy sorority song, and my happy Chi Phi girl song that gets sung to me…and I never got out of the little bubble long enough to think of the inevitable (AHHH!) fraternity prank!

Love you sorority tradition Mrs. Licorice-I’m envious and can’t wait for mine!!

Mrs. Licorice–did you add a sash for your reception following your ceremony? I have a dress very similar to yours and am wanting to add a sash for the reception and wanted your take on how that worked for you. Thanks, you looked gorgeous. Congratulations!

Mrs. Licorice says:

G: The sash actually came with the dress. I liked being able to switch up the look. I wish I could help you out more!

G says:

Thanks Mrs. Licorice! How did you tie your sash without it looking messy? I have a brooch so hope to fasten it that way. Tips?

Mrs. Licorice says:

G: I’m not really sure how the bow was tied; I think it as a simple bow. The silk flower covered any messiness. I’m not sure how wide your sash is, but I think it would look nice tied in the front off to te side with the brooch pinned through the knot or bow. I think Mrs. Bell Pepper did this. I would look at her old posts! A good knot bio to check out would be srpro. I hopt this helps!

A fraternity brother of mine got married earlier this year. These pictures bring back so many memories of college life before graduation!

Good to know you are still close to your sorority sisters!
