About Mrs. Caramel

Frost Yourself

September 14th, 2007 @ 6:03 pm by Mrs. Caramel

It took me a long time to find my wedding jewelry but I finally found it at some random store at the Fox Hills mall in Culver City called J. Dew. We spent over an hour there going crazy over the jewelry! Not only do they have adorable handbags, hair clips, and accessories, but they also have bridal jewelry on display.

I usually do not wear heavy jewelry, but I knew for sure that I wanted some BLINGY earrings or a necklace - but not both. I decided to go with a very elaborate necklace and a very simple earring set for my wedding day, and the other way around for my engagement pictures since I wouldn’t be wearing them as long. I cannot stand heavy earrings and they make my ears itch sometimes, so I’m happy with my selection!

I looked at these photos before I chose my final jewelry:

Here are the J. Dew earrings I wore for my engagement session:

Here is the bracelet I wore that day:

and here’s the necklace I chose for my wedding day!

The earrings are basically just teardrops and VERY simple!

Do you guys think this necklace is TOO much?  I felt a little uneasy because I wasn’t sure if this necklace was too crazy.

Heh heh, Frost Yourself! I can hear Matthew McConaughey now!

Anyway I wish i could see the top half of your dress to see whether the jewlery is perfect for it! Sometimes simpler dresses NEED great bling!

*LOVE* the necklace! Sometimes you do need a heavy, blingy neckpiece to pop with the gown. I originally wanted a very fine, delicate piece — that’s my normal style — but it just got lost with the dress. I ended up with pearls and a blingy topaz, very not me, but it looked much better w/ the dress. It’s your special day — GO FOR THE BLING!

I’m glad you chose either the necklace to be blingy or the earrings. I really like the necklace but I can’t see the whole effect with the top of your dress! I can hear Mrs. DeLauer now… “Frrrrrrrrrrrost yourself”. Haha.

Miss Caramel, I love your bracelet! Where is it from? Also, I think the teardrops are a great decision with that necklace. :)

i love the necklace! personally, i would yank it up a little bit? not like a choker, but maybe just lift it a tad bit to see how it looks!~

wear it. you have the small earrings, and even though it may seem like a lot now, when you are all done up you will look lovely!

FABULOUS earrings for your engagement session. I love them!

I’m not a fan of jewelry that is obviously faux (i.e., dead giveaway because of the lacking quality or over-the-top size). I’d go with just the earrings. With the necklace it could be a little ’80s.
