I’ll echo Aimee and welcome Miss Penguin. it’s nice to see my childhood home represented. I want to know where you eat sushi every week in Sacramento. I haven’t been back to visit in awhile.

yay, congrats! i’m from sacramento myself but living out in nyc now. my fiance and i are getting married next june 2008 too and we are also having a wine country wedding. how awesome!! can’t wait to hear your story and your wedding planning. =)

Hello, one and all! I’m all warm and fuzzy inside with all these warm welcomes! I’d like to take a quick second to answer any questions you have…
First of all, grew up and now work in the Sacramento Area, but I live in the bay area. Its quite the commute, but I often stay with my parents back home 4 days a week to cut down on commuting.
KGR - So my favorite sushi haunts are all over the place…
Mikuni’s in Sacramento (great for friends!)
Samurai Sushi in Rancho Cordova (HUGEST slices of the freshest sashimi)
but my all time favorite sushi place is in San Francisco, a tiny 12 seat place called Kiss Seafood.
I also admit, I eat LOTS of sushi from Raleys Supermarket! Its fresh, and it gets the job done for lunch!

Villa Toscano is lovely! I will actually be across(ish) the street at Terre Rouge tomorrow for a tasting seminar.
If any of you in NorCal haven’t been wine tasting in Amador/Fairplay/Plymouth, GO NOW! There are a few fantastic places up there, and much more reasonably priced than other wine tasting areas.
aimee…WORD! Its like vintage napa out there…tastings are still free at the majority of the wineries and they aren’t stingy on the pours!
How awesome! I also grew up in Sacramento (I live in San Diego now) AND I LOVE PENGUINS. We’re pretty much the same age too.
