Our entire second day was spent at sea. Oh, and here’s the obligatory elevator carpet picture:

After pigging out on yummy buffet food, we lounged by the pool:

Which leads to Day 2, Lesson 2: do not go sunbathing right after a full meal - you WILL pass out from food coma. These pictures were taken by Mr. Peony because I passed out while reading a magazine. To clarify, I passed out with the magazine on top of my face and woke up with ink smudges all over my face. Which Mr. Peony didn’t point out until an hour later (hence one of the reasons I love him so much).
No, I don’t have a picture of this.
Before dinner was a cocktail party held in honor of the bride and groom. Aside from the bride and groom, Mr. Peony and I knew only one other person on the cruise: our friend Trang from college. So the cocktail party was a great time for everyone (41 people total!) to mingle and get to know each other.
A snapshot of Trang, Pearl (the bride), and me during the cocktail party - we were in the same sorority in college. Yay KDPhi!

After the party we headed straight to dinner. We didn’t need to change, because that night was formal night (every night is a different themed dinner with a different menu to fit the theme). A picture of the happy couple during dinner:

Aren’t they so cute? Compare that to this picture of me and Mr. Peony:

This is why we have so few nice pictures of us. He always needs to be making faces in pictures!
After a delicious, sumptuous dinner we girls changed once more for Pearl’s bachelorette party! It was all fun and silly games. Like this bridesmaid yelling at the top of her lungs, “I am lonely and I need a man to marry me!!!”

(Okay, that wasn’t the best picture.) Or another girl, who had to have a stranger ask for her hand in marriage. The server she asked proceeded to produce a padlock and placed it on her finger in lieu of a ring.

Mr. Peony, who was watching his beloved Ravens play their first game at the sports bar, became the target of several of the girls who were too shy/lazy to go up to strange men (I gave them permission
). I believe one girl had to ask him for a dollar to use for the condom machine, while another pinched his bum and said “nice butt!” Here’s a picture of the bride who had to ask him to put a dollar in her bra strap.

One of the best games of the night was asking strangers to write words of wisdom/advice on the bride’s t-shirt. This lady wrote: “Run!”
Her poor husband, who was sitting next to her, thought she wrote “Rum” instead. I guess it works either way.

When we got tired of the games, we decided to go relax at one the ship’s many lounges…..and ran into the groom and his friends during their bachelor party! As well as Pearl’s parents! Since this was the nicest lounge on the ship, we decided to stay, only at opposite ends of the room. And Pearl’s father graciously bought us all a round of drinks.
Later on, when the jazz band found out that Pearl was getting married the next day, they decided to play a song for her. So we yelled for Matt (the groom) to come over and dance with her…

Soon after, Pearl’s parents joined them on the dance floor!

Look how happy they look! They are just too cute for words…
