Tears of Joy?

September 20th, 2007 @ 1:14 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

You guys have heard of Tears of Joy packets, right? It’s the tissue that you package in a cute way for guests to use during your romantic and life-melding ceremony. Well, have I got news for you: make way for this year’s Tears of Joy packs!

It’s the Box O’ Sobs of Ecstaticness! I am aware that’s not a word. But it spells B.O.S.E, and I like it. Anyway, while I was at CVS (yes, the second time in two days), I saw these CVS brand tissues, a must-have for fall season brides. happy043

Even though I long ago tossed the idea of a guest basket in the restrooms, I totally want to put these tissue boxes in the bathroom.

Mr. Kiwi thinks I’m losing it because I want to put these in the bathrooms at the reception. Would it look crazy?

hehehe those are cute! and i bet most people will just assume the hotel put them there, so they won’t make you look crazy, but will still add a wee bit of fall-themed oomph to your bathrooms. :-)

In your previous post you mentioned it’s going to be a public restroom, so it won’t just be guests using them.

On the other hand, it’s only two boxes right? And since it looks like you’ve already bought them there’s not much left to debate.

Here’s something to consider though…when people arrive for the ceremony, the aren’t going to think “I have to go to the bathroom and get some tissue”. They mostly likely wouldn’t even see it until after the ceremony OR if they did, I’m not sure that they would think of taking tissue with them.

Of the two, I think I like the red/orange/blue one best.

it’s a great idea! my friend did the same thing when she got married b/c the original restaurant bathroom decor was bland.
she bought candles, kleenex & baskets…

Somewhere I’ve seen a photo of a public restroom decorated absoutely to the hilt, including wrapping each stall door with coordinated fabrics. That is crazy. A couple of cute kleenex boxes are perfectly reasonable.

Not over-the-top but also not necessary and most guests will probably think nothing more than, “Meh, this hotel buys CVS brand tissues.”
