Two Birds Bridesmaids

September 20th, 2007 @ 4:46 pm by Mrs. Bee

BFF Bridal featured Two Birds Bridesmaids in their newsletter today, but I thought their dresses are so fabulous they’re worth another mention!

Two Bird’s convertible bridesmaid’s dresses can be wrapped in over 10 different ways - strapless, halter, assymmetrical, sleeved and more - to flatter many different body types.  They’re available in 10 colors (custom colors available for an additional fee), 2 lengths, and one size fits 0-16.

At $270 for the calf length and $290 for the floor length they are on the pricier side, but this versatile dress is definitely one your bridesmaids will want to wear again and again.  The website has 8 easy to follow tutorials of various styles, or you can always come up a unique style of your own!

Lovely dresses, but doesn’t the model in the strapless version look like her chest is hanging down around her waist?!

The bride who created the dresses and started this company is a Rockhouse bride!!!

Looks adorable on the models but kinda trashy (too much cleavage) in the photos from the wedding gallery. And $270 for a jersey/spandex blend? Yikes!

Another tactical strike for the “War on the One-Time Dress”

It looks fun to play with. The girl in me who loves to play dress up is jumping up and down, but the adult would rather try one on first to see if it really would fit my body (I see what you mean about the chest).

Kudos to Ariane for coming up with this!

wow… then the girls can really change their dresses style in the middle of the banquet without having to buy a second dress!

I like the color of the dress but I don’t think it’s all that cute, it’s not flattering on the chest area.

Not ideal for the well-endowed.

I think I remember seeing one of these convertible type dresses on the home shopping network. I’m just not a fan. Epescially at $270+

Reminds me of “Units” clothes of the 1980s.

Yeah, I like the idea of them, but I highly doubt it would work with my rather-endowed chest. Drat you small-breasted women and your cool fashions!!!

Yeah, I agree with everyone else. Interesting concept, but the dresses don’t look THAT flattering…

It reminds me of an American Apparel dress that came out earlier this summer. That one actually looks better to me. They had a video showing all the different ways you can tie the dress and I thought it was so cool!

I agree, it’s a cool idea, but I don’t know about the one size fits all. The size 0 person will just end up needing to wrap more fabric around her and the well-endowed will have to worry about a wardrobe malfunction. Nevertheless, it is still a cool concept, just not for everyone.

Butter By Nadia also already does this http://butterbynadia.com/
(you can buy it at Calypso Christiane Celle

But I also agree…the ones shown would offer little support. And I have my doubts that the avg. person would be able to wrap these as well as they are done in the photos (and some aren’t even wrapped all that well). I could see a bunch of girls with loose droopy fabric wrapped in crazy ways.

I kinda like these. But at $270 that’s too pricey!

Only the grecian-style ones on the righthand side look good. The halter one looks like she’s being throttled by her own dress, while the strapless dress is about to fall off. I have the same problem with sarongs, which you’re supposed to be able to tie 10 different ways. It’s a good idea in theory, though.

I like the dress, it looks fun. It’s got me thinking I could wear one for the rehearsal dinner and FI could wear a matching tie. I love it!
