Two Veils

September 24th, 2007 @ 4:48 pm by Mrs. Caramel

update: More pics added at end!

Veil #1

I wanted my veil to be interesting and elaborate since my train was short and had almost no detail. There was a design on one of the bridal gowns that I tried on that I loved, so I took a shot of that and my graphic designer best friend/bridesmaid was able to make a copy out of it on her computer.

I purchased a plain cathedral length veil and I asked my friend who sews and does bead work to help me make a veil out of the design. She blew up a large version of the design and worked off of that. Here are some pictures of the process:

If anyone would like her information regarding veil bead work, her email is beadedveils@gmail.com. She’s one of my very good friends, so I would highly recommend her! :)

Veil #2

Some people asked about the birdcage veil I wore in my e-pics.

I found the veil on myweddingveil.com and had a great experience! This one woman hand makes them all. She’s VERY sweet and accommodating. I told her I wanted a very simple look, but wouldn’t mind some feathers and some jewelry. The cost was a bit expensive ($85 total with shipping) but I absolutely loved it! I’m actually going to sell this beauty after the wedding for much cheaper, so if you’re interested please let me know!

What a great idea for getting a veil with some detail! You’re very fortunate to have two great, talented friends who were able to help out :-) If my train were simple I would do the same thing!

Was your hair down for the birdcage? If so, how did you attach it? It looks beautiful. May I ask which veil you got on the website? I am so tempted to go out and get it!!!

Yes my hair was down! I was hoping to be able to pull it off in that 20’s way and I think it can work with some people. I’m still uncertain about wearing it on my wedding day though.

I’m not sure what Reem’s Harmony is? Oh and the veil took a VERY long time because of the intricate beadwork! Maybe about 4-5 months.

I will email those who are interested about the birdcage AFTER the wedding - that’s okay! =)

* Miss Caramel!! - I tried to e-mail you but your e-mail isn’t listed on the weddingbee directory~ :T

I LOVE your veil! - both of them. But I’m contemplating purchasing your birdcage veil for outdoor pics before the wedding. (I’m planning on wearing a sheer long veil for the ceremony.) I would love to bid for yours..but I think I would like to order the same veil (if you don’t mind) b/c knowing my luck, i will end up losing the bid for yours. Can you e-mail me and share the details of your veil..how should I go about ordering it? Thanks so much!!! :D
