I’ve been here since Sunday afternoon with my mom on our first/last/only mother-daughter trip, and we’ve already done a ton of sightseeing!

Here I am on the second level of the Eiffel Tower
These are my completely biased and unscientific observations of Paris so far:
1) The stereotype that the French are rude is completely untrue!
2) It’s a very diverse city. Parisians have asked me for directions in French, which hopefully means I don’t look like a tourist
, and there must be a large Asian population here. In two separate instances, I’ve even communicated in Spanish with people who didn’t speak French or English!
3) A lot of Parisians don’t speak English. (But it’s probably very arrogant to even assume they do!)
4) Paris is like a more charming, cleaner, sometimes more expensive?! version of Manhattan. You can get anywhere you need to go via metro (subway) or bus.
5) There’s a lot of graffiti, smoking, and PDA (but not in that gross way).
If you’d like me to find out anything about Paris while I’m here, please comment below and I’ll try my best. I’ll be back Thursday night and will write up an extensive review, chock full of tips for maximizing your Paris trip.
Until then, Au revoir! ![]()
