About Mrs. Jasmine

Is anyone as excited as I am for the upcoming Sex and the City movie? Although my dating life was not nearly as exciting as Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte, I loved living vicariously through them. And I found that I could relate to some of the issues they faced: money problems, break-ups, balancing career and relationships, etc. And I’ve especially enjoyed the misadventures of Miranda and Charlotte as they embarked upon marriage and encountered all the new challenges and happiness that it can bring.

Word on the street is that filming of the movie has already begun. This means a potential release date of next May– just in time for a screening during my bachelorette party. :) Here’s hoping that the movie lives up to my widely inflated, almost impossible to meet expectations! Any Sex and the City fans out there? Did Sex and the City teach you anything about love, relationships, and/or marriage?

OH yeah! I cannot wait. It has begun, I am trying to avoid seeing pictures of production as to avoid many opportunities of mini spoilers. I cannot relate to their dating life but I too, can relate to alot of their issues that they encountered.

I love SATC! It has definitely taught me a lot about everything - love, friendship, etc. I’ve cried (happy and sad!) a few times because the issues the characters faced were too real. I can’t wait for the movie release!!

“It’s hard to walk in a woman’s shoes, which is why we need new ones to make the walk a little more fun.”

I *heart* Sex And The City! I can’t wait!

Christine says:

I heart SATC, serious, serious heart. As Nathalie said, at times the characters seemed so real - my GFs and I had had so many of the same conversations, experiences, hopes or dreams. The SATC writers were a brillant, in touch group.

Who doesn’t want to see what kind of wedding Carrie and Big have planned? Or what kind of mom Charlotte will be? And yes, Miranda reaching out to her poor MIL. Don’t forgot sassy Samantha - although out of all the characters in SATC she’s most likely to land on her Jimmy Choo’s and be fine with just about anything.

Cannot wait till the movie!

My brother in law introduced me to Sex and the City. My sister sure thought it was weird but she worked Sunday nights so never watched it. I drove to their house to watch it with him and now we have a date for next May to watch the movie together!!
Funny sidenote: I am sure their neighbors thought he was having an affair because I would come over every Sunday for 1 hour to watch the show while my sister was gone. If I was a neighbor and noticed this behavior, I would totally have thought that!!!

I am a huge fan! I saw more than just a little bit of parallelism with Carrie and Mr Big when I was in my last “relationship”. I have watched every single episode of it and some more than once.

I love sex and the city! We should have a weddingbee together and all go see the movie together!

I was pretty naive about relationships (namely all that dating stuff that happens after college) so SATC opened my eyes up a bit to what other women go through.

my favorite show ever (well, that or Arrested Development)!! i feel like miranda taught me my view of love - she wouldn’t elope because she really wanted to “say those words” in front of everyone she loves.

I also let him know that at some point in my life, I will be taking that Sex & the City tour in NYC with my girlfriends. The weddingbees should all go together!! HAHA

LOL. This post cracked me up because my Man of Honour often refers to me as “Miranda,” because of my personality, and when I went dress shopping, he and my Maid of Honour acted as my very own Anthonys. “Hates It!”
I’m with you Jasmine, I would totally fly out to NYC to see it!

Love SATC! Visiting NY in late October and hope they are still filming. I was so sad when they wrapped up the series!

AlliNY says:

Oooh its filming alright. I tried to go to Kmart this week and they had taken over the nearby Starbucks. There are CRAZY crowds of people wherever they are filming. They, and the UN, have taken over NYC!
