Minimoon Recap

September 26th, 2007 @ 12:00 pm by Mrs. Snow Pea

Shhhh… I have a confession. I spent all summer in a long sleeve shirt with SPF 30 sunblock on to avoid tan lines. Yes, crazy me gardened all summer with a long sleeve shirt on. Mr. Snow Pea thought he was going to lose me one hot weekend and gently chastised me for letting my vanity take over. So you can imagine my excitement as we landed in Cancun where I could finally break free of the wedding and made contact with the UV rays! Everyone was right. The honeymoon is the BEST part about a wedding!

At the airport, we must have seen over 15 newlywed couples. I counted at least 5 brides who still had her wedding hair intact! It was so cute. They all had “Mr & Mrs” t-shirts or something to that effect. They all must have registered for the same dang red luggage set at Macy’s as we did. We all had a similar set!

As soon as we arrived in Playa Del Carmen, we got changed, walked around and got something to eat. We literally spent everyday just eating, sleeping, laying on the beach and lounging around. That’s all we really wanted to do and it was amazing!

One day we took a break from lounging around and took a day trip to Chichen Itza. This was something I really wanted to do. Mayans were considered the “first architects” which I studied in my History of Architecture classes, so I almost feel obligated to check it out as part of my “job”. To be honest, it’s worth seeing, but I wasn’t that impressed. Maybe I was just hot and sticky.

Great re-cap. That is too funny about gardening with the long-sleeves and the matching red luggage. We are going to be in our location for a while and I need to get a long-sleeve rash guard to play in the ocean with before the wedding, thanks for the reminder!

You two looked like you had a good time. The Mayan architecture and underground swimming site are really cool!

I went to that same Wal-mart last spring and it was deffinately an interesting shoppng experience. The electricity kept going out and no one but us reacted so I’m guessing it’s pretty common. Freak us out though, my brother insisted we leave. We had barely any groceries and no store anywhere near where we stayed. Crazy experience.

ddd89 - They are bowls and some of them are wall decor. I like taking pictures like that to use as backgrounds of my travel albums.
