Regina B that is! (yes, it seems my posts these days are all on the heels of Mrs. Bell Pepper’s, who recently herself posted her rave review of Regina B!). That’s my best Vanna White impression above!
A couple of weeks ago I treated myself to a little trip to the Big Apple, accompanied by my good friend (and bridal party usher) J, for a little wedding day jewelry shopping, a viewing of a couple of Broadway musicals and a meeting with Mrs. Bee!
I got the idea to spoil myself and check out Regina B because I figured if I was going to spend a decent amount of money on jewelry I’d likely only wear once (or twice, if the occasion presents itself) it probably made sense to actually get a good look at it person. Truth be told, it was good that I did because I have a poor sense of proportion and I wouldn’t have been able to tell what size pieces to choose for myself based on pictures from the Internet alone, BUT, if you have a good eye yourself I can say that I would otherwise feel more than comfortable purchasing any of their products completely online, as I thought they were all accurately portrayed.
Look at all the preciousness to choose from!
Here I am picking out my choices. You can choose whatever you like and then you put your selections in your little velvet tray:

Here’s the final choice for my bracelet, without all its inlaid crystals (ignore all that arm hair and the crazy veins — the blood bank loves me!):

And here’s a picture of me trying on the hair clip I liked best. It turned out to be a bit small for me, we all agreed. I have A LOT of hair! Regina B is going to custom make one for me, based on this one, but slightly larger and set on a large enough comb to stay in place in my thick mane:
It takes about 4 weeks for a custom piece to be made. They will e-mail you pictures throughout the process to make sure everything is on the right track. This next picture shows the same bracelet I chose and another girl’s comb in the process. Notice that it doesn’t have the crystal inlaid yet. They showed me this one to see if I wanted mine to be like it. This one in particular is a bit wider/longer than what I want for myself, but it helped to see it so I could point them in the right direction:

Other Bees have posted about the cost of their jewelry, so I won’t mind sharing my costs either, though I will preface doing so by saying that I am aware that perhaps it is more than what some brides can or care to afford and who knows, perhaps it is less. For me, spending this money is definitely a splurge, but I don’t own too many terribly expensive things and I don’t have any plans to sell these after the wedding, so I felt like this was both a rare special purchase and a sentimental one, too. I mean, these are the pretty things I’ll wear on the day I say “I Do.” LOL: in other words, I rationalized it. I hope, too, that by posting the costs other brides will have an idea ahead of time of whether something like this can be worked into their budgets.
I apologize ahead of time: I didn’t seem to get any pictures of the earrings, but as soon as I get them, I will be sure to do so!
Earrings: $165
Bracelet: $215
Comb: $300
The comb is the most expensive piece because, as you can imagine, it’s custom made, and the largest piece of the three. The comb pictured above, on which its modeled, costs $225.
