Off The Cuff

September 27th, 2007 @ 6:32 pm by Mrs. Magnolia

While searching innocently for something that may or may not end up being a wedding gift from me to Mr. Magnolia, I stumbled across the following:

(All images courtesy of cufflinks.com)

“Just Married” cuff links

Off The Cuff : wedding Cufflin

Bride and groom cuff links:

Off The Cuff : wedding Cufflin01
“Ball and chain” cuff links:

Off The Cuff : wedding Cufflin02

…and my personal favorite, because I think they’re pretty clever,

“Eye do” cuff links:

Off The Cuff : wedding Cufflin03

While I don’t see myself purchasing any of the above for Mr. Magnolia, I’m definitely considering gifting him some kind of special touch to add to his ensemble for our wedding day. Has anyone else considered a gift along these lines?

I love how tongue in cheek the “I do” cufflinks are…yes, money was involved in our wedding. How did you know?

LOL, I love those “EYE DO” cufflinks! Mr. Petunia would totally get a kick out of those, but I already had my heart set on those Monopoly terrier ones!

I’m getting FH locket cuff links - they’ll have pictures of his grandpa and his cousin inside. He was very close to both and both have passed, and this way they’ll be with him on his wedding day.

I’m another cufflink girl. I got what I called “Chinese knots” from Tiffany’s. Our favors had satin cords that I’d tied at the ends in Chinese knots, so they matched our overall look.

I bought my FI Richard Nixon Presidental cufflinks. He has always love Nixon, which is weird since he wasn’t even born then but I figure he would be excited.

In the latest issue of BFF, they had cufflinks made from seats from famous baseball stadium. I’m considering a pair of those, although as he’s an engineed he never wears a suit..

Like uisinger, I got my husband locket cufflinks.

Mine came from Charles Tyrwhitt (http://www.ctshirts.co.uk). There was space for 4 pics, so I out in one each of our beloved pets who couldn’t be with us at either wedding (the legal one in the US and the “sentimental” one in Italy) and a pic of me from the night we got engaged. (All his grandparents are still living— boy-toy younger man that he is.)

I did the pics in balck and white for a “vintage” feel.

I got mine during one of their frequent 40% off salesa and I just checked the website and thy are having one right now, if you are interested.

They don’t seem to carry the lockets at the moment, but they have all kinds of other cufflinks, including a “drinks counter”, mini vintage car wheels, and ones with spaced out letters that form “I LOVE YOU” when you spin them.

My husband is quite particular about his cufflinks and he says CT’s are good because they have the “whale tail” finding, which I believe refers to the non-decorative side of the cufflink.

They also come in a very nice leather box.

OMG! The “ball and chain” cuff link is hilarious!!! I think FI would NOT be happy to wear that one though. His GM would never let him hear the end of it. :P

Hmmm… somehow my longer post about Charles Tyrwhitt cufflinks didn’t post, but to summarize:

They have nice cufflinks.

I bought my husband’s there (locket style, which appear to be out-of-stock at the moment) and put in B/W pics of our pets.

They are having a 40-50% off sale right now.

They come in a nice leather box.

They have a new style that spells “I LOVE YOU” when you spin them.

My FI currently has a man crush on David Tennant and all things DR. WHO. I got him a set of Dalek cufflinks for the big day! [much cheaper than getting a groom's cake made to look like a telephone booth...i know, the Tardis is SO much more than that]…

We are doing six pence cuff links. There is a seller on etsy who we bought them from and he does beautiful work! Husband2Be is really excited about them and I love how it helps him to participate in the tradition of “Something old, something new…” with me. They were only $15!!!

I’ll be getting FI a set of cufflinks with a mini-map of Australia on them (he’s Australian), but I LOVE those ball and chain cufflinks! Where did you get them?

redshoegirl,

I found all of theses cuff links on cufflinks.com, under “Wedding Cuff Links” - for the groom.

I LOVE cuff links! Thanks for the info! Does anyone know of any place where I could find some for my bartender FI? Like little martini glasses or something? I’ve bought him several pair since we’ve been together but none to do with his passion.

Well, wait…if I had searched around a little more on that cufflinks.com I would have answered my own question! :) *smacks forehead*

Ruby, you’re too funny!

Your question made me go look, though…

And there are some ADORABLE food and drink cuff links! The lobsters? The peppermints?

I love them!
