Anne Barge.

I wanted one of her gowns…with capped sleaves and a dropped waist…for my wedding dress, but it just wasn’t in the budget. And ever time I see a gown I think is stunning, it turns out to be hers.

I’m in love love love with Monique Lhullier and Reem Acra. Both always have stunning necklines, back dress details, and sihlouttes.

Favorites have been Anne Barge, Alfred Sung Signature, Oscar de la Renta.

I wonder how many brides actually purchased from their favorite designer tho? Turned out my “dream dress” was a Henry Roth, someone I hadn’t checked out and my bridal consultant introduced me to.

Amy Kuschel… and if all goes well, I’ll be wearing a dress from her 2007 collection that I bought on ebay!

My dress is Judd Waddell, which is just soft and airy, with lace and organza. I almost got a Bonaparte NY dress which I also loved.

I love Judd Waddell’s latest collection, I’m also partial to him b/c he’s my dress designer too! The dress was quite affordable compared to the other designers’ at the shoppe.

My faves are Monique L’huillier and Claire Pettibone! I did not, however, purchase from either of their collections but if I had more in the budget for my dress, I would have bought from one of the two of them…

Most definitely Maggie Sottero. I tried on at least 30 dresses, and my top 3 were all Maggie gowns. Beautiful, feminine, and affordable!! All were musts for me! My dress was Maggie’s Chantilly, with layers of lace and a corset back. LOVE IT!!!

I really like Carolina Herrera, Oscar, and Monique Lhullier does some really cute short dresses and lovely lace gowns. I ended up with a vera but its from 2005 (all collections after that don’t do it for me).

Pronovias, my dress is an Algarve from the 2005 collection, Jenny Packham (she designed that gorgeous orangey coloured dress in Casino Royale) and Jane Yeh, a New Zealand designer.

Melissa Sweet (thats what I wore)

I pretty much love all of the biggies: Vera, Monique, Carolina & Angel Sanchez
I really love Lela Rose too, and I only wish her collection had come out while I was planning…I probably would’ve picked one of her gowns for sure! :)

Oh, Rivini. Cut beautifully, so flattering and the fabrics are to die for. On top of that, her designs are all so classic!

I’m secretly not a fan of Vera Wang. Yes, I know this makes me an idiot, but I just don’t like them. Too much netting for my taste!

Augusta Jones and Jenny Lee!

I never found any Jenny Lee’s to try on and ended up LOVING all the Augusta Jones dresses that I tried on (bought the Sterling). My other “finalist” was actually a Judd Waddell and was absolutely gorgeous, but I couldn’t stomach the cost at all.

Maggie Sottero is another favorite designer of mine - corset backs are a really stunning look and Maggie corsets have true quality, compared to some other designers’ corsets.

Jim Hjelm and Tara Keely would also be on my list.

Augusta Jones! - that’s what I ended up buying.

Loved Jenny Lee’s line, but couldn’t find anywhere in CO that carried them.

Maggie Sottero, Jim Hjelm, and Tara Keely were others whose dresses carried a consistency that I liked in every fabric and every season.

* MARISA * !!!! the most under-rated wedding gown designer… Tamara Kristen really knows her stuff. But you have to head to a salon to see them in person..she doesn’t post current designs on her website.

Lazaro, Jim Heljm, and Monique Lhuillier… But I’m real ‘if-ffy’, I tend to like 3-4 of a designer’s dresses, but not the rest. But these three designers hold my favorites. :)

I ended up getting a reception dress from Morgane Le Fay which I love and I love a lot of their current collection. For the whimsical, “something different” bride.

I also bought Augusta Jones Sterling (and nearly bought a Maggie Sottero for the corset and and Ian Stuart (Sundae) for the ‘wow’ factor).

L, have you had your wedding yet? Would love to see a picture of a real bride in the Sterling dress. My wedding is in May 2008.
