Wedding Wine Tasting

October 2nd, 2007 @ 11:28 am by Mrs. Penguin

It’s difficult to include everyone important in the wedding process, especially when most of our families reside half way across the country. We’re trying as hard as we can to make the wedding a reflection of not only ourselves, but everyone involved.

Our winery reception site lists five wines (3 reds, 2 whites) that we must choose from for our reception. So we hauled all five to our most recent trip to Minnesota to have Mr. Penguin’s family help us choose our wedding wines. We had to choose from a Sav Blanc or Semillion for our whites, or 2 Zins and a Bella Rosso for the reds.

…and the winners? The Semillion and one of the California Zins.

How are you including your in-laws in the decision making process?

I basically just helped my FMIL and FFIL pick out what they’re wearing. They’re at home most of the day, so we’ve had our wedding gifts delivered to their house, so we have fun opening them as they come… but other than that, they’re not too involved in the actual planning.

My future in-laws has been pretty involved in the wedding planning process. Both of our parents live where the wedding is, so it has been easy to include them. They came along to look at the reception sites and bakers. My FMIL also came along with my mother and I when we met with florists and bridesmaid dresses.
