Last Minute Hair Trial

October 3rd, 2007 @ 4:21 pm by Mrs. Caramel

I was a bit nervous about my hair person since I’ve never had a trial done from her.  I really wanted to use my hair guy that I had recommended before, but he charges $100 to travel to Los Angeles since he would have to take the whole Saturday off. (He’s very busy!)

I got my hair dyed and highlighted to match my scary hair extensions that I got from The Hair Shop in mid-Wilshire Los Angeles. That place is WONDERFUL and they are very helpful! The store is huge and they have every selection you can think of. I got my 7 piece set for $99 and the hair is gorgeous (Sadly, it’s way nicer than my real, dry hair!)

I knew I wanted this certain half up, half down style so I brought these pictures to my trial:

However, he asked if he could do something different. Since I already knew what my hair would look like roughly, I was curious about this “new idea” he had. So he whipped me up in this contemporary look. I do like some things about it, but overall — I do not think I will go with this style. The reason being that the best looking part is in the back, not the front. The front seems very plain but the back is gorgeous. The hair is very high up and teased, and the back ends with a pointy tip. I did not use my extensions for today, but I intend on making my hair BIG and poofy on Wedding Day.

Although I’m not using this style, feel free to use this style or get ideas from it! I think it’s a lovely idea, especially for someone who has a square face shape.

And with my lovely hair clip:

But here’s the front… very plain! Otherwise, it’s a perfect hair-do! I definitely want some curls up in the front.

And since so many of you asked, here’s the hair stylist’s info:

Caramel, I think you look soooo purty!! But you are right, the back looks more exciting in the front, not too much going on there. Although I think the front would benefit from side-swept bangs.

Miss Caramel, I think it’s absolutely beautiful! I think you could ask him to do some tendrils in front…I did a very similar hairstyle myself, with flowers in the back.

Also, keep in mind that for the whole ceremony, people will be staring at the back of your head, so it’s not like pretty hair in back would go to waste!

i agree with mrs. emerald… side-swept bangs would make this hair-do killer! the back is gorgeous.

I love it!!! That’s what I have planned for my wedding hair. I love big poofy hair for an event, but not everyday life. In fact, it could be even bigger in the front. I’m really sorry, it didn’t work out for you, but thanks soooo much for posting pics. I’m definitely giving John Q a call. He’s where I’m at in Orange County too!
