Yesterday I received the garter I ordered in the mail! I ordered it through The Gartermaker, and I couldn’t be happier. When selecting a garter, I was at first a bit hesitant. Most of the styles didn’t really do it for me. They either had no personality or seemed too garish.
And after I had lost all hope, I found a winner…
This one seemed feminine, stylish and unique. You will also notice that I got our wedding date embroidered on the inside. I guess I have my “something blue” now!
Unfortunately, after checking back on the Gartermaker website, it appears the store is definitely scaling down. According to the website, the owner, Christy, is having a baby. It looks like she’s replacing a lot of her custom garters with garter tutorials and referring you to another site (http://www.hand-craftedcreations.com/). I’m not sure if she’ll go back to making custom garters after the baby, but it’s worth looking into if you’re interested. I really love my garter!
One note, if you are looking for a custom garter, look in advance. I hadn’t been looking when I stumbled upon the website and decided to get it. It did take a while to make & ship (though that might be related to the owner having a baby), but it can’t hurt to give them plenty of time.
Where did you get your garter? If you got a garter, are you doing the toss?
I ordered my Garter (what finally came last week) from Victoria’s Secret. No garter toss for me but wanted to get something sexy and stylish for my FH.
