With Mr. Kiwi hopefully getting his suit tomorrow, we’ve been planning on what to have the guys wear WITH their black suits. Our MOH is wearing a David’s Bridal dress in Cinnamon, which has a matching tie/vest twin over at After Hours formal wear- which seems to be the only place with that exact color.
So, we had figured out that the best man and my dad would rent the cinnamon vest/tie combo, so they match the MOH/everyone else. Mr. Kiwi and I were stumped about his attire- is he supposed to wear a matching vest, too? He didn’t think he wanted to match the wedding party, he wanted to match ME. So, instead of getting a cinnamon colored vest, he wanted an ivory vest.

We hadn’t really liked the idea of having to go to some random store to just rent vests and ties, but we figured we had no other choice, trying to find a tie to match that color was impossible. Until… I was at Ross Dress for Less yesterday, and saw it. THE tie we’ve been looking for.
It’s the exact color as the vest, plain with no pattern, and it was $12.99. Funny thing, they’re by Donald Trump! Yeesh. It just seems so silly to wear a suit item by The Donald. Oh well. So we bought up three of them and made our decision: we’re not doing the vests after all. Mr. Kiwi might just use this tie for something else, and find an ivory/gold tie instead, but we’re done! Since we’re not doing the vest anymore, maybe we could get matching pocket squares? Anyway, the tie/vest/suit search is over- and we’re almost done!

My groom had a white tie, no vests.
The best man was supposed to have a red tie.
But he did not check to make sure it was correct and they called me at the church 30 minutes before they were to arrive and told me about the mixup.
He had a white tie just like the groom, sigh.
If he had listened and checked the order…..oh, well.
Great find! And I like the idea of having the groom stand out in some way. I can’t wait to see pictures of this all pulled together.

hey my groom is wearing a Donald Trump tie too, only we paid full price at Macys… The tie is striped and has the perfect color of blue that matches our bridesmaids dresses.
I wonder why The Donalds ties are such a good match for bridesmaids dresses that otherwise match NOTHING?
