About Mrs. Plumeria

The Ceremony

October 5th, 2007 @ 4:41 pm by Mrs. Plumeria

It started with the lighting of candles…

Our moms lit two tapers surrounding the unity candle.
And then close family members and the bridal party walked down the aisle…

And it was my turn next…

Our pastor’s “trademark” - during the message, he turns the couple around to face the congregation.

Vows and rings… I lost it at this point. Luckily, I had tissue hidden in my bouquet. Unluckily, I forgot about it and proceeded to smear my tears around my face with my fingers instead. :) Of course, at that point, melting makeup and the like didn’t matter a bit… I was just overwhelmed with happiness.

We gave flowers to our moms before lighting the unity candle together. I think this part was by far the most memorable for me — we chose a song we both love and deeply relate to, so in the brief moment after we had lit the candle and stood by it quietly watching it grow brighter, we were both singing along quietly, in our own moment.

The kiss! I embarrassed myself by making a weird noise like a stifled laugh when Mr. Plumeria pulled back the veil, and everyone burst out laughing, including us. It was a good thing though, because I think we were a little nervous about this moment anyway.

Married!!

We did it!

So happy!

I love your veil! It’s just what I want. It’s cathedral length? How long is your blusher? Is it a two tier?

Mrs. Plumeria says:

Thank you!! The veil was a two tier Erica Koesler with a silver embroidered edge. I think the blusher was elbow length and the other tier was chapel, and it was center-gathered so it wasn’t too poofy — more light and sheer. I wasn’t completely set on wearing the blusher but I wasn’t against it either. To be honest, I think I ended up doing it simply because I could (picked the veil 2 days before the wedding!), and because it “went” with the feel of the ceremony. No pros or cons, really! :)

Hi Mrs. Plumeria!

I love the church that you got married in. I was wondering if you could give me the name and address. My cousin just got engaged earlier this week and we’re looking for churches in the bay area. thanks!

I’ve been trying to find a church for my wedding but trying to plan a California wedding from the east coast is really hard. Could you email me (j1k1m at yahoo dot com) with the name and address of the church. The church is absolutely gorgeous and probably booked for my wedding date but I am still hopeful.
