Faux Centerpieces

October 6th, 2007 @ 2:31 pm by Mrs. Spider

We stopped by Target yesterday to pick up some travel size goodies for our upcoming trip and I couldn’t resist buying some faux flowers and fruit vase fillers.

Each stem was $4.49 and a box of apples at $4.99 filled two vases.

I put some apples into a rectangular vase and then stuck two of the stems in.

And then threw the rest of the apples into a martini pitcher.

And stuck the third stem in.

I love the clean lines and color contrast between the purple and the green. Then I thought, wow these could be some really great faux flower centerpieces.

So I put all three in a tall vase with some rocks.

Very elegant and clean, I think.

Can you believe I just spent the better part of an hour creating mock centerpieces and I’ve been married for a year?

Funny how that happens. You get so used to planning and coming up with great ideas that sometimes it doesn’t shut off even when it’s not needed anymore.

We used faux flower centerpieces. The were white and pale green blooms in silver buckets from the same place as our linens and china. It worked out great and the silver buckets picked up all the colors on the table for a coordinated look. And, I didn’t have to make them!

I CAN believe it, b/c I didn’t even discover Weddingbee until a few months after my own wedding and now it’s basically a daily read — including going back to troll the archives when the current day’s posts run out and I’m still jonesing for more funny-crafty-real-life wedding-related goodness, which is how I knew exactly who “Miss Spider” was the minute I saw your post!

So, yeah, I can relate… :)

If I recall correctly, you are the one that made your own table numbers and they are somehow attached to a tall vase with pink stuff inside? Can you please tell me how you made the table numbers? quanhaha@hotmail.com
