Afternoon Tea At The Peninsula

October 9th, 2007 @ 11:30 am by Mrs. Jasmine

When my parents visited Chicago this summer, my mom and I treated ourselves to afternoon tea at the Peninsula Hotel. It was a fabulous mother-daughter outing and the tea service was truly decadent. The Lobby at the Peninsula would be the perfect spot for a bridal shower or bride and bridesmaids tea!

We somehow managed to stop and take this picture before digging in.

Wedgwood’s “India” design. A possible registry item, I think! ;)

Mmmm…Blueberry Souffle. Mr. Jasmine calls it blouffle.
:D

Mom surveys the aftermath.

Afternoon Tea is $35 per person or $44 per person with 1 glass of champagne. Peninsula Royal-tea is $95 per person and is served Friday through Sunday during Afternoon Tea hours.

Looks lovely! I’m actually thinking of doing something like this in Chicago for my bridesmaids - hadn’t thought about the Peninsulas as a venue, but now I will definitely have to check it out.

I love the Peninsula- it’s pricey but a wonderful city venue for a wedding and afternoon tea! The Drake also has a wonderful afternoon tea service.

The Peninsula in Beverly Hills is fantastic for afternoon tea as well. I think the room at the BHP is smaller, and it has more of a Victorian/antique/garden decor. Because their tea area is smaller, they offer different sized private rooms for parties anywhere from 10-30 guests. My server last time said it’s very popular for showers.

I love going for tea. I’ve been to high tea at the Peninsula in Hong Kong. When I’m home in Chicago, I stick to the Drake.
