Our Surprise Engagement Party!

October 9th, 2007 @ 3:13 pm by Mrs. Daffodil

My best friend is the BESTEST! Mr. D and I went to Atlanta for a wedding this weekend and we stayed with our friends, Amy and Reid. Amy is one of my bridesmaids and my best friend since middle school. To our surprise, the next morning, we woke up to a surprise engagement party! It was so incredibly special for us because our entire wedding party is spread out all over the US, so Mr. D and I never even had a chance to celebrate our engagement in person with any of our friends…until now!

What we both found most surprising, however, was how much more “official” we felt afterwards.  It’s not that our engagement didn’t feel official before, but for some reason, having it acknowledged in this manner really made us realize “wow, this is for real!”  It was the perfect timing as well, as we are getting close to six months til the wedding…Wedding planning will really be picking up at this point, so it was the perfect kickoff to this season in our lives!

Have any of you experienced an event or a moment where everything just clicked and you realized, “this is it!”??
