The best part of the tasting was, of course, the dessert! Now I must confess, I LOVE desserts. I live for desserts. I’ve been trying to curb these desires given that I have two months to get into a wedding dress, but this was the day I could throw caution to the wind!
After deciding on our starter, we were brought three delectable plates full of desserts. You may remember that for dessert we’ll be doing a sampler. Basically, we’ll have a smaller “show” cake so we can cut the cake. Guests will get a dessert plate with a small piece of the wedding cake, a sorbet and a mini creme brulee. Here was our first option:
Above we have a decadent double chocolate cake (really more of a mousse…mmmm). It’s paired with a pistachio ice cream (in an edible cup) and a vanilla & raspberry creme brulee.
Next, we have a more exotic cake option. This cake was a mango/raspberry concoction served with pistachio creme brulee and a coconut sorbet. Despite some of these more distinctive flavors, the taste was subtle (in a good way!) and not overwhelming.
Lastly we had a raspberry and white chocolate cake, raspberry sorbet & vanilla creme brulet.
After much discussion (we were between the raspberry & white chocolate cake vs. the double chocolate cake), we decided on the raspberry white chocolate cake, coconut sorbet & vanilla and raspberry creme brulee.
It was such a nice relief to have one more decision made!
What are you doing for dessert at your wedding? What flavor cake did you choose??
